• Thanks Whack. I think so many of us like this game, Dizz, because it has many aspects of 1940. But then seems better. It is certainly more complex, with a wonderful map.

    Dizz, I would counter that losing your navy doesn’t mean you’re dead, just on the defensive.  I took out the Axis fleet in the Pacific, but Hisachi and Yamamoto have both been collecting in their 60s for awhile thereafter. Even with full control of the Pacific, it can take a long time to truly crush someone.

    So don’t despair if you fall on hard luck, you’ll still be in the fight for some time affecting the war.

    It also encourages a nice mix of units, land/air/sea, as many compliment the other.  Amphibing, inf support from planes, etc.

    I also enjoy the fact that there is more back and forth, with counter strikes instead of two giant stacks and that’s it like in Global 1940.  Here there has to be some counter assaults to stop blitzing. Mechs can move THREE! and if you have a giant stack of all inf as Russia, Germany can skirt around you and threaten a capital. It’s good to have a mix of 1, 2 & 3 movement units for both offense and defense.

    There are a lot more tough calls that force you to look into the future. Do I buy 3 infantry that can move 1, or 1 mech that can move 3 and support? Where is my front line going to be after counter attacks, etc.?

    We have ten players now so we’re almost ready to start.
    I’m going to see if Vold will play the axis minors since he’s never played WaW before…that will put AeV on the allies side then.
    I’ll post the teams after I get that settled.

    i though of an addendum for bunkers: you can only build 1 / territory / turn. So you can’t spend 60 ICs and drop 10 bunkers in a single territory. Any territory can only add 1 bunker per round.

    the game engine only allows one per territory per turn even if you have unlimited construction selected as an option, so we won’t need any special rules for that.

    Our options will be-
    No low luck.
    LHTR rules for carrier production
    Unlimited construction with or without factory
    shore bombard casualties won’t return fire ( if that isn’t what happens once we start, we’ll just keep it the way it is)

    I like the idea of not knowing who was what country.

    Let’s see, do dice rolls work in PMs?  I’d assume so.  Time to PM my team and get to the rolling!

    However…not knowing won’t work because you can tell who posted the turn! lol.  Unless there’s some convoluted way of making everyone log in to a common account per side just for this game.

    Don’t forget, AEV, I changed the order in a later PM.  I’ll post who is what later, but right now I’ve hit my PM limit. So I guess a mass PM counts against your limit pretty hard. lol

    So review my PMs for the second, jumbled order for countries.

    And what do you guys think of posting via two team names so we won’t know who is what until the very end?  I think that would be very cool
