Ukraine is usually a good bet because it limits what can attack Caucasus and takes out a Gerry Fighter.

However, keep in mind, i also advocate hitting W. Russia, Ukraine AND Norway to get TWO German fighters. (And sometimes I go nuts and hit FIC as well to get a Japanese one!)

This is absolutely right and not new discovery. In the very beginning several chapters of On War, Carl von Clausewitz has concluded the defense is stronger than attack in general. That’s why a war, although its nature is to use violence unlimitedly, can last for a long while and sometimes shows a medium-to-long-term stable status. The point is the defense itself can’t win a war. The purpose of defense is to dwarf off enemy’s force and to choose correct opportunity to launch counter attack.

The only tricky move in combat and non-combat of the same unit is armor, really. Armor may blitz into and out of combat during the combat move phase. (Assuming the territory blitzed was empty.)

Other then that, “combat” ends all movement. (Aircraft exempted.)

NEVER change strats during a game. If you are going KJF, STAY KJF. Otherwise, just go KGF, and STICK WITH IT.

Trying to bluff in the Pacific as the US leaves the Axis with economic dominance, and with USA and UK in NO position to assist a dying Russia.

i agree totally, so did his partner. we both thought that after brazil he should have turned south and gobbled some african cash and then kept going through the indian ocean and back to the pacific. it would still have been far too out position to save his other fleet and with his land unit requirements he couldn’t build his minor fleet up to a level that would make the usa blink. once the trannies going into asia were gone, so was the game.
