Has anybody thought of using the actual convoy routes in the war for convoy disruption? Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

That’s an interesting idea. Indeed, the actual history justifies fighting for specific islands and this would help to reinforce that as well as promote action in the Pacific. Something to ponder….

Right - but using the latest rules for straights - you can make a rule “subs cannot conduct convoy raids while inside protected straits” - so the subs would have to come out to make the raid and remain in that zone for the rest of the turn.

I have to agree, the convoys in SZ 109 dont make a lick of sense from a logical stance (America’s not shipping food to Germany, certainly not through SZ 109!).

We’ve been toying with declaring certain convoy zones axis or allied zones.Â Basically, all convoy zones are allied except SZ 95, SZ 97 and SZ 6 (convoys around Axis capitols),Â

Actually, SZ 125 is really an Axis convoy zone, at least while Germany still controls Norway.Â Of course, if Axis has a warship there, then it screws up Russia’s Archangel NO.Â I guess you could call that SZ a double duty convoy zone.

Yea, I didnt include that, but yea that one makes sense as well.

Much significant for Allies build if you lost too much cargo.

I guess a simple solution would be limit ships to one sea zone movement, instead of two.

But would that not ruin the game in the Pacific to some degree…?

Shipping of this era was not so slow. They could get accross the Atlantic pretty quick.

Besides, as abstract as Axis and Allies is, it is more realistic to have IPC loss rather than entire armoured corps sunk during transit.
