What exactly does KGF stand for? From what I can understand its a strategy but what is it?

Hey everyone,

If you’re reading this, then I assume, like me, you love a good game of axis and allies. Throughout the many games I have played with my friends the one thing that was always the worst about playing was having to be the banker, and the banking system in general. Its very time consuming, takes up more space, and is a messy way to keep track of income. A while ago I wrote a program that does all the purchasing and income for the game, specifically the 50th anniversary edition, and me and my friends found it to be a great edition to playing. The program works by having you enter in what you are going to purchase, and then the territories you capture on your turn, and based off this information keeps track of purchases throughout the game and each countries income. It also automatically does bonuses and calculates in technology benefits. (if you’d like to give the program a try you can download it at: http://sites.google.com/site/dkat106inc/axis-and-allies-banker ) After using this program for some time I have decided to write a newer version of it and currently need help debugging some of the errors that are bound to occur in different situations. They were in pretty useless shape. The stern of the the Japanese subs was pointed straight down, the bow of the Italian battleships were pointed straight up. The legs of some of my Italian infantry were so thin, they looked like rejects from a Tim Burton movie… :-o A couple of destroyers looked like they had been t-boned by an aircraft carrier, they were so crooked.

Sorry though, after receiving the pieces and checking I had replacements for everything, I sent them all to the round file. I shouldn’t have been so selfish :cry:

played 2 day……us fleet takes iwo jima and puts a couple subs in sz that contains japan.
uk fleet blocks italia’s fleet in med. on atlantic side uk forces take norway w/ 1 tank
ussr reinforces moscow and a uk fighter assists.

I believe the Italians don’t own that territory because by that point in the war Britian had already re-claimed it.

Larry has stated many times that the units don’t generally fit standard military models for classic formations (divisions, corps, army) and in some cases these are corps and others they are armies. They are not the same in every case, allowing for the corps in Africa to be symbolized as perhaps 2-3 units, while in the Soviet union one infantry may represent an army ( 3-5 corps).

I have been reading those old posts. I note he (Larry Harris) stated the Naval units abstraction was a greater dilution of unit strength, or a direct correlation to vessel numbers from standard representation of Classic fleet/squadron/Battle groups. I am thinking more in chess terms, where tempo or position is sometimes of more value then individual pieces.
