@JWW:
4b.2 - isn’t this rule universally ignored w/the NGU inf bid placement?
It changed between 2014 and 2015 and probably a lot of people didn’t even know it changed.
If you try a bid placement in New Guinea and your opponent doesn’t say hey, that’s against the league rules, then you’re golden

Fun analysis, axis
Takes guts to predict something that is so hard to predict. This is going to be a whale of a playoff, that much is certain -
I am actually inclined to agree with Axis-Dominion. My first thoughts were along the same lines. I predict Adam winning this playoff.
-
Crud, I’m out of time, I gotta go
The 2nd bracket is complete, I did it in a hurry but I think it’s accurate. You guys might want to double check.
Higher seed gets to bid first
Any questions, I’ll be back later today3rd bracket will have 2 play-in games for the 7th and 8th seeds. I’ll set the bracket for you in a few hours when I’m back from going to church

Happy All Saints’ Day, Gamer!
-
All brackets are done - play may commence.
Unfortunately Giallo (1 seed) and Oysteilo (2 seed) will have to wait for their first round opponent.
You have my permission to stand behind them and repeatedly tell them to hurry up :wink:Seriously, it would be appreciated if the four participants in the 2 play-in games would keep up a good pace in consideration of the other 6 guys in your bracket.
Everyone but Giallo and Oysteilo may begin bidding and playing. All games do count in the 2016 league, win or lose. Go!

Slate is clean - 2016 rankings are up and ready for results
It’s a 14 month year - this year only
Temporary tiers are only for ONE game now instead of three. Each new player (less than 4 games completed in 2015) will be assigned to tier 3 for their first game result. After that, it will be by their PPG
Each player who completed 4+ games in 2015 will remain with their 2015 tier for purposes of calculating their OPPONENT’S points, for 1 game only. After 2 games, they will be on their actual tier as dictated by PPG, and their first opponent’s score will be adjusted accordingly. If you have any questions about the 2016 league rules, I encourage you to send me a private message, or discuss it on the forum here so others who have the same question may benefit - whichever you think is appropriate
-
How many games does a player have to abandon (leaves the site) so that his past opponents are protected from PPG drops?
-
Just one. If he leaves the site, doesn’t post anywhere on the site, and drops a tier or tiers as a result of abandonment, previous opponents will be protected
-
Temporary tiers are only for ONE game now instead of three.
I like it better already…
I think this will slightly improve the accuracy of the rankings further… -
2016 Axis and Allies Global 1940, Second Edition League Rules
1 - Anyone can join at any time. No sign up is necessary just play a game in the league forum with the proper game naming convention (15L G40 Player1(side) v Player2(side))
…
3a - Each player will belong to 1 of 4 tiers based on their 2016 league year game results, after completing 2 games. Cutoffs for tiers will be at 5.50 PPG for tier M (Master); 4.50 for tier E (Elite); 3.50 for tier 1; 2.50 for tier 2; and 1.50 for tier 3.
…
Points awarded are changed when a past opponent rises or falls a tier that is, every players current point total reflects the current standing of their past opponents, with one exception.
The Pherman Rule
If a player leaves the site and abandons all 20 games at once, and this causes that player to drop tier(s), their past opponents will be protected from this drop (points lost due to tier drop will be added back). However, the players reporting wins due to forfeiture will still earn points based on the abandoning players new lower (if applicable) tier.
…
he’s back btw

Yeah, it’s a rule because of your incredible, incessant whining
Congratulations -
Yeah, it’s a rule because of your incredible, incessant whining
Congratulationsthe community spoke out against the flaw in your system, and actually it was alex’s great idea to freeze the tier.
but ok, i’ll take the credit if you really want me to :-D
-
it’s actually a very good rule and makes a lot of sense. so again thank u for taking action.
my ranking will now feel much safer with it in place!

“the community spoke out against the flaw in your system”?
trolling and baiting

Here is my proposal:
axis-dominion rule
Only the certifiably nut is allowed to speak on behalf of the community and any nation, announce closing his A&A.org account and continue trolling in the site, and has an absolute right to wear his big girl panties.
-
me, are you saving up some forfeit games starting now? as i’m sure you’ll need them by next year’s deadline again to quality back into your little elite circle and the playoffs.
pitiful

it’s not trolling or baiting, i guess i didn’t like your comment about my whining incessantly and so i, knowing how much you value your system, decided to take a jab back.
not cool of me, so i’m sorry man.
truth is, your system is great, and i do feel very much that this rule only makes it greater. sorry you felt it took some whining to get it established.

i took a jab back and that wasn’t cool. sorry me. you didn’t do anything wrong and of course everyone knows you’re a solid player and deserving of where you are.
fyi i did ask djensen to delete me, but he refused. so here i am. sorry…
