Your hard-fought victory?
In the 10+ years I have been playing here I can honestly say that the hardest part about that game for me Adam was my attempt to engage a child in dialog.
As far as “earning” the victory, it has the same earned value as the many games that have been declared a victory after being abandoned. Our League adopted the “bump” or abandonment rules 5-6 + years ago for a reason and I believe our rules serve us all well here.
Perhaps your moral code thinks we shouldn’t declare such victories? That’s cool, you certainly don’t need to nor will I be following your games, therefore you won’t need to worry about me calling you out as a hypocrite months/years down the road if you to decide to declare an abandoned game a victory.
If you feel very strongly about this you can of course debate your case w/the powers that be and try to change our League rules and remedy this grave injustice. I will gladly abide by any rule set that Gamerman and Jenn decide on next year.

So regarding Pherman, I have also a game that I might have to call. I told him I will wait as long as I can before the season ends, but the longer it takes until his return, the harder it will be to finish in time.
I prefer him coming back, though, and I wish there would not have been those problems.
In any case, with Adams reaction, if it was general and not specific, heaven forbid this game would help propel me into play offs at the cost of another player. It is very unlikely, anyway, but still.

Nothing to worry about, Great. If someone abandons their post you take the win, and if you get into the playoffs somehow, you won’t be the weakest player in them…… :-D

This might be the reason Pherman left…one short remark and you are all over Adam.
It´s just a game…not a high-horse championship.One short, snarky-assed remark. If you can’t get why JWW was annoyed by that, then i don’t know what to tell ya. Look, we need to have a serious conversation about the culture here. Are we going to ignore when people disappear without letting their opponents know or what? Every time I see someone win due to bumps or whatever, we have the same conversation. Time to stop beating around the bush, let’s hash this out. Do we want the rule for bumping or not?

The bumping and taking the win after 3 bumps is just fine, I have a problem with what happened within the game between Pherman and JWW. Seems like JWW has a different attitude than the rest of us.
