Well for what it’s worth, Battle of Midway won some sharp handicappers who boxed him in with the favorite a lot of money. After this gamely performance he has to race near the anniversary in June.
NHL 2014-15 Regular Season

@Young:
It will be the Canucks going all the way in the west this year.

Gargantua’s statement seems less ridiculous now than it did last year. I think the Canucks won the off season by getting Nick Bonino, Ryan Miller, and Verbata to compliment an already decent line up. They also took care of their coaching “Gong Show” which is a whole lot more than Toronto did to fix their problems. Not saying they will go all the way, but they definetly set themselves up to compete every night.
Oh, I do not disagree that they are much improved, even with losing Kesler.
However, with San Jose, Los Angeles, Anaheim and Chicago to deal with… I find “all the way in the West” to still be laughable.
Anything can happen, but I rather doubt it.
Haters going to hate, and still early in the season, but my nucks are tied for first place in the league. Definitely not complaining, and definitely going to keep watching!

I miss playing in the Western Conference…Still doesn’t feel quite right. :-(

Yeah, I don’t much like change either. Late games never bothered me. I always liked being in the West.
-
But I did find it weird that a team in the Eastern Time Zone played in the Western Conference. Also I think it’s worth blunting the Wings-Hawks rivalry for more O6 matchups with the Habs, Leafs, Rangers and B’s. At least with fewer Detroit-Chicago matchups each game means more.
Let me just say it now, NHL expansion in general is a humongous mistake, and a team in Vegas will be an unmitigated disaster.

Relocation - Heck yes. Expansion… Absolutely not.
But I have no hope at all. All about that $$$$.

Prust with a clean wrist shot on Howard, Montreal leads Detroit 1-0 in the 2nd period.
-
Montreal kills third striaght Detroit Power Play, still lead 1-0.
-
PK’s shot deflected, Montreal leads Detroit 2-0 in the 2nd period.
-
Montreal kills 4th straight Detroit power play, still lead 2-0.
-
Montreal leads Detroit 3-0 in the 3rd.
-
Montreal leads Detroit 4-1 in the 3rd.
-
Habs beat Red Wings on the road, win back to back games, their 6th in a row, and are alone on top of the NHL standings.
WHAT A TEAM!
-
Booooo!!!
-
Sweet bank shot there to make it 4-1 ! 8-)

Yes!!! Pens 4 Habs 0……not the same league…

I agree…
Crosby / Malkin
Toews / Kane
Getzlaf / Perry
Kopitar / Doughty
Must be nice to have two future hall of fame(ers) on the same team at once.
Teams lacking multi superstars have to work harder for all their wins.
-
The Dallas Stars……what has happened!!!
-
Can’t scrutinize a regular season game too closely, the 82 game grind will produce plenty of clunkers.
-
The NY Rangers take advantage of a Montreal squad who were playing their backup goalie, and who were both emotionally and physically spent after beating the Bruins. (sounds like the Conference final all over again).
-
Habs beat the Red Wings again, great game though!…Carey Price for the Hart.
