I would appreciate it if scrambles are asked about for any possibilities, however remote – I thought that was the league rule? Sometimes it’s not the battle percentage that is coming into question. :)
That being said, it should be fine for that battle.
Both of my new opponents have not asked about scrambles – is that something new since last year?

My experience has been not to ask for long-odds and with no discernable reason to do so. It helps speed up the game. Like the US moving into SZ 6 with 12 planes and 1 transport vs. 1 japanese fighter. No one in the right mind would scramble, so if it can be reasonably assumed as a no, you move forward.
I am aware of other reasons, such as blocking off-shore shots, or trying to weaken a navy through multiple battles (usually in the Pacific), but none of those reasons seemed to apply here.
Moving forward I will ask about them.
