No, he took a 97% battle with +23 expected and had 2,3 more surviving air as expected after winning :P
Since the US had/has enough air power to clear any Japanese defensive position in China, attack was the only reasonable option.
In hindsight, I was overzealous to send 4 ships to bombard.
And even with this reprieve, I think the Germans are arriving too late. Though I’m going to try and prove myself wrong on that count.
