Can I move more fighters to a SZ for a fight than your carriers have capacity?

A question comes up when playing - let say I have 10 planes that I want to send to attack. For the sea zone under attack, I know for sure there can be 1 carrier landing there at non-combat phrase.  Can I send all planes there even though I know majority of them would die under water since there is not enough carrier for the fighters to land?  I assume this is possible but want to double check.

No, you cannot do that. Every plane sent into combat must have a legitimate landing space within range. If you had the income and bought 4 Carriers and could place them in the SZ you are talking about, you could do that move.
The situation you describe is known as a “suicide attack” and is not allowed in A&A.

I was curious about that, if a new carrier deck is purchased and will be dropped in the sea zone during the unit placement phase. Thanks for the clarification
