  • I did not expect you could send all 5 fighters east and buy 4 bombers, and as it happened all my Allied fighters were out of range.  That coupled with your swingback from Caucasus, and suddenly you have 73% which also surprised me.  But, with all due respect, I don’t think there’s any way you can win, even with amazing dice in Moscow

  • Are you using AACalc on the A&A site?  Because I noticed earlier today when doing the calc on Moscow that it takes infantry off before bombers.  That makes a big difference.

  • uhhh using low luck I would have won with 6 tanks and 8 air left.  had I been slightly lucky there might have been 10+ ground units there, making a fairly dicey counter attack.  even if you won the counter attack I would have taken it back for good with 7 mech and 8 air…  not sure what you are saying when you wish I had won  :-P

    put it this way, you won with +13 units over average on that pretty disastrous attack.  had I won with just half that outcome which was still about a 20-30% probability, you would not have been able to take back moscow…


  • I don’t think I needed to hold Moscow, and yes on the counterattack if it failed I would probably destroy almost all of the tanks

    You said it would have been an epic game if it continued, and yes I half hoped you wouldn’t lose Moscow

    But I am also glad I won and that the game is over.  It’s called mixed feelings.


  • You won’t agree with me, but from my perspective you dodged a lot of bullets to get this far.

    You are as dangerous and cunning as I remember from 5 years ago, and played like your record.  Well done, and let’s refrain from arguing about the game.  We see it differently, and I don’t expect that will be reconciled.


  • well obviously we have different opinions. the way I saw this game if russia went, it would have been game over.  you were in no way threatening japan, and despite taking a few ipcs, really had no shot on taking germany.

    so what would have happened if I had a slightly favorable outcome with +4-5 units over average?  there would have been 8 tanks and 4 mech in russia since I would have sac’d some air in the last round and still have 5-6 air left.  if you don’t take it back I would finish what’s left of the 15 russian dudes the next turn.  if you took it back and won, you would have had 2-3 ground units in russia.  I counter attack with 7 mech, 5 air and finish every single russian guy left.  after that, everything would have gone to europe.

    oh yeah, and india would have fallen and you wouldn’t have been able to retake either, then middle east/africa fairly quickly after that.  I had the numbers on the us in the pacific so you could have done nothing other than annoying attacks, like what happened in china.

    game wasn’t as lopsided as you think.  when you opened up russia, my odds of winning the game was pretty much that moscow battle.  of course, that’s how I saw it but we will never know now  :lol:

    you should never have given that shot on russia imho.  had I been in your shoes I would have grinded the game down since you were in a fairly dominating position to attrition the game out…
