• I played a game yesterday, and some of my forces were paratroopers.  One thing I didn’t mention to my opponents ('cuz I didn’t think it made sense) was that the SNLF Captain’s stat card has no mention of the Paratrooper ability.  To over-analyze the rules, this would mean that you can’t just drop him anywhere, like with other paratroopers.  But what would be the point of that?!?  Has anyone else noticed this?  Or was I just hallucinating during that game?  :?

  • It’s not consistent but it does make sense. The unit is not an SNLF Paratrooper Captain. Read the historical fact about either the SNLF Capt or Paratrooper and you will discover that SNLF was basically the equivalent of the U.S. Marines.

  • So I was in the wrong?  That sux… Not only because I made a mistake, but because that means the Japs don’t have a Commander who is also a paratrooper, unlike the US.  I’m just all about the good guys and bad guys being evenly matched.  :-)

  • I don’t think you were wrong. Now I’m confused.

And, yes, it is unfortunate that the Axis don’t have a paratrooper commander.

  • i had the same question, and i cant really fugure it out either

  • I guess the Supreme Naval Landing Force wasn’t made up solely of airborne units.

  • However, now that I think about it, if the SNLF Captain actually were a paratrooper, then he should be worth more points. (maybe 9 or 10)  I was using him to drop him strategically next to my snipers/MGs to hurt their targets’ cover rolls.  :-D
