    We all probably like to have a good pace kept up in our games so we can stay in them, and I would like the same for this…

    I will probably not be able to refuse or postpone a rematch with Bold, so when Karl’s is wrapped up, I won’t start another with anyone…  I’ll let you know when I’m ready to roll.  Now I may be able to post USA/UK some time, but don’t feel obligated to move quickly.  I’ll let you know when I can move regularly (approx daily).

    Just to be sure I understand the nuances of sharing a SZ with an enemy submarine (as with SZ35 in this game), can you tell me if both of the following interpretations are accurate:

    1. If I choose not to attack the submarine in SZ35, then my CM/NCM options with those ship starting in SZ35 are the same as if the sub did not exist.

    2. If I choose to attack the submarine in SZ35, then I can only move ships out of SZ35 during combat movement (and so it follows logically that this means they may only leave SZ35 to conduct combat or support amphibious assaults).

    Is there something I am missing here that was upsetting people?

    So I will answer your questions fully now, so you know how this works.

    That is correct.

    That is correct.  I will add to make sure you have this 100% crystal clear.
    It is illegal to move anything out of the zone that is not a combat move, during the combat movement phase.  This will not affect your aircraft, since if you leave them there and attack, they will still have full movement left.

    Any ship can leave to participate in naval combat or to bombard, or to move in anticipation of a scramble, because these are all legal combat moves.

    What you can’t do is attack the sub AND move any boats out of the zone during the combat movement phase for the sole purpose of avoiding combat with the sub.  (See previous sentence for what is legal)

    Sounds like you got it.  What upset MagicQ was that he needed to move his stuff in noncom so let the sub go, and then the sub did max convoy damage.
    I know Krieghund confirmed that he should have wrote “to avoid combat” instead of “hostile sea zone” since Subs/transports don’t make it hostile, but it is what it is.

    Okay, that’s what I’d assumed based on the rules.

    Looking forward to using this deviously at some point, but it will probably take a while for a worthwhile scenario to present itself.
