Yes, in the context I was speaking the semi-decent price is in the future, as you were speaking of Risk Anniversary Ed. If AA50 goes out of print for good and rises to crazy prices I don’t think it will be the standard global AA game. Though, with the internet making it all pretty much free anyway (play-by-forum etc.) I could be wrong.

Right. I knew that about the trannys.

The truth is that once upon a time I was very well versed in the game, but have not played in maybe 7 or 8 years. I just wanted to check on the aircraft carrier thing, because I remember doing it, and that it was crucial to a virtually unstoppable winning variant of strategies by the allies. The sequence of Britain going 3rd and the US 5th allows britain to build that carrier in turn 2 and for the US to land planes on it also in turn 2, therefore allowing units to be transported to the mainland by turn 3.

Anyways, it’s been too long for me to remember the strategy off the top of my head, but that is the key move. Thanks!

I just want to point out, that this even aplies if the transport doesn’t have to move. If the British want to use the Russian transport to ship toops to Norway, they have to wait on the boat for one round.

Ha, in A&A, I took over Russia with Germany on the second turn! Ending up EV winning on the 4th, since the Japanese (AI controlled) player couldn’t figure how to attack on the first turn.
