Here’s the game file. It looks like play-by-forum is still broken in TripleA. Since this is friendly, I didn’t bother with a dice server so feel free to use the built-in dice roller. Upload the save file when you’re done.
G40 JeffM vs Ghr2 - Bid for Allies, No Tech
-
Ghr2, I am looking forward to a good game!
Lets get started by bidding for Allies. Lets start high and go back and forth… high bid takes the Allied side. Lets use standard rules on bid placement: you can only put bid units into a territory that you control, naval units must be placed in a sea zone where you have a fleet present.
Ghr, I will let you choose, do you want to start the bidding, or do you want me to go first?
-
So, for land units, you dont need to already have a unit present in the territory?
-
High bid takes allied side? Can you give me a detailed example of what you mean by that?

For land units, no… you don’t have to have a unit in the territory in order to place a bid unit there.

Sure, here is an example: Say I go first with a bid of +15 Allies. You can either let me have the allies with +15 (you take Axis), or you can counter with a lower bid. Say you bid +12, then I counter with a bid of +9. In this example, say you do not want to go any lower and I win the bid with Allies +9. Basically we keep going lower till one side agrees to let the other have the Allies.

What part about that is high?

What part about that is high?
The bidding for allies starts high and works lower. Again, say I start with a bid of 15…. On your turn, you either choose to take Axis and give me the Allied bid or you counter with a lower Allied bid. We go back and forth till one side agrees to take the Axis.
Look at this thread for an example:
-
I know of that bidding method, just you were saying that high bid gets allies. That part confused me. Anyway, start your bid.
-
I bet I know where the wheatbear rule came from :)
-
Ok, I’ll start with:
Allies +15
-
14
-
+12
-
10
-
+9
-
pass
-
Will do. I will take the Allies with +9… bid placement will be along in a few minutes (need to get home and see the map).
-
For the Allied bid, I will take a UK sub in SZ 98, and a UK inf in British Guiana.
We are good to go, start G1 when you are ready! Please edit in the Allied bids on your turn.

I should have it posted sometime sunday.

I am making a new thread for our game.
