Congrats on the successful funding! That’s no small feat, especially in the board game world. Looking forward to seeing more details on Song for War when you get the chance to share. Always interesting to see how different designers approach WWII mechanics, especially in the Med Theater, which doesn’t get as much focus. Good luck with the production phase, it sounds like quite the ride.
Rome Total war 2

Maybe. I was happy playing Napoleon one on one battles with a friend. They worked well.
Need more confidence with the units in this one, but why not!
Will be weeks though, as I have a lot on with work at the moment. -
played a lot of single battles with a friend, too, was great fun and a challenge.

The annoying thing was the aggressor usually lost. If it gave us good defensive ground, you wanted to sit and wait. Well you cannot both do that!
We had an understanding that meant we took it in turns to attack. -
you are right. Unless the combination of arms was perfectly fitting. But mostly I remember Roman artillerly killing my advancing hordes.

I’ve played most of Total War games and was thoroughly disappointed with Napoleon Total War, I hope this one is nothing like it. I’m pleased that they have chosen to make another game about Rome. But Medieval TW 2 is my favourite of the franchise. I made wonders with cavalry in this game. By the way, that was a poor deployment of your troops, full of redundant actions.
