Well yes, but other than the coast of Oregon is really nothing but wilderness. By far most of the people live on the coastal areas, and not the other eastern side.
Just check out where the major airports are.
Go somewhere anywhere do something!!!
Been to Alaska, Hawaii,and the Carribian. Canada and Mexico too and I’m thinking England and Scotland next year. Save 50-100 $ a week or whatever you can and go see the world.

I live east of Portland Oregon and lived most of my life south of Seattle in the city of Tacoma. Right now the weather is very nice. It actually rains more in Hawaii than the Pacific NW. Its one of the prettiest places in the country.
LH, my wife and I spend just about every aniversary and or Valentine’s day on the Oregon coast. It is touristy but even if it’s crowded you can get around the town of seaside on foot easily. The beach is wonderful and usually you can get a hotel or in right on it.
Again during this time of year the PNW goes through a usually beautiful Indian Summer. I have no doubt you and your wife will have a fantastic trip.
IL, I don’t wish to disrespect you or be rude. However you don’t live here in the PNW and a couple of visits or bland readings of stats will not give a very accurate description of what the region is like compared to someone who lives there.
LH the coast is great on a budget. Seattle is also pretty great too. If you’re going to spend time there I suggest staying outside of Seattle and make a day trip in due to the high cost of staying in Seattle proper.

IL, it does rain here yes. But it doesn’t rain constantly nor is it a cloudy gloomy swamp. The central and eastern areas are high desert and have a significantly different climate than the coastal areas.
Hoffman was looking for suggestions and I’m simply trying to offer help or suggestion as someone who lives and travels significantly in the areas he’s honeymooning in.
Considering this is a happy occasion for his wife and himself I thought it might be nice to help a fellow member.
Last I don’t see this thread needing to become a debate thread. I’m simply offfering suggestion from the perspective of someone who lives and travels the region. Like I said I’m not trying to offend or argue with you I’m just saying that I know what I’m talking about.
Bremerton (which I think is right next to Seattle) has naval stuff that I’d want to see if ever I had a chance to go there. The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is probably not accessible to the public, but the Visit Kitsap Peninsula website says that you can see the reserve fleet from the waterfront at Charleston Beach Blvd & Navy Yard Highway. The carriers USS Independence (CV-62), USS Constellation (CV-64), USS Ranger (CV-61) and USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) are currently berthed there (see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31105675@N08/4477314924 )
There’s also the Puget Sound Navy Museum (251 1st ST, Bremerton, 360.479.7447; website: http://www.history.navy.mil/museums/psnm/psnm.htm). And there’s the USS Turner Joy (DD-951), a restored Vietnam-era destroyer (300 Washington Beach AVE, on the Bremerton waterfront, 360.792.2457; website: http://www.ussturnerjoy.org/).

Toblerone: I also have family in Tacoma and Seattle. I have actually been there before, but I was about 2 so don’t remember much. As of now the itinerary includes a little Seattle, a night in Tacoma and probably a day/night in Portland. Depending on if we fly into PDX Portland or SeaTac… not sure yet.

Oregon has no sales tax , so factor that in when shopping for pricy items.
Oregon requires gas attendants to fill up your tank (forced jobs), that means you have to fill up your gas tank during their working hours. Personally, I prefer the automated gas stations in other states that take credit.
Both coastal areas have great seafood.
The hotels I have stayed in usually have a tiered promotional card rack that point out various points of interest. Some of the restaurants cards from that rack will offer free desert or similar incentive to go there.
