Scramble 3 fighters to 99.
13L G40 2.0 Commander Jennifer vs Karl7 (Allies+9)

wow, really thought 7 infantry would at least wipe most of an attacking stack of 18 infantry out. 14 defense vs 18 attack should have been a pretty close battle. lol

no scramble against a few carriers, battleship, cruiser, destroyers etc?
Didn’t see those anzacians there either, of course, they are almost American colors so cant really blame me for it. lol. (Attack on India)
-
for the sake of getting the menu off my screen and because I think defender has best odds if they do not scramble, I am going to go as if they don’t. If you want too, I can redo all the combats for japan (ie that one, sinking the transport, aetc. Won’t be a huge shift no matter what.)
-
okay, so is the tripleA calculator at all accurate?
Russia walks into Manchuria virtually unopposed. India wins when they had less than 8% odds wiping out the Japanese air force…. seriously!
Not sure if the Axis can win anymore. With no threat from Japan England can focus on saving Russia and there’s nothing can really do about it. Good dice beating good tactics anyway… (camo was nice, but that’s all my fault. And it bought India 3% odds would have been more, but you had to take the Anzac fighter out of India to do it so that kind of evened out the move.)
-
Okay, so I ran the numbers again on REAL battle calculators (ones I used to use all the time with battlemap) and the odds were not as one sided as TripleA reported. (Triplea reported I had 93% odds in India. Frood/DSKelly both said 72% odds which is a HUGE SHIFT.) So at least I learned that you cannot use the TripleA calculator (yet another broken thing in TripleA I guess.) TripleA also reports that the Russian attack on Manchuria had 35% odds of success, Frood/DSKelly both have it listed at 99% with similar results (2 less infantry for Russia, which is nothing in a stack like that.)
Basically, I woulda done Japan 3 way different had I just used my freaking brain and not trusted a program plagued with glitches and rules errors. Frustrating! (US, UK, ANZ 3 as well as RUS and JAP 4 also would have been completely different.) Just irritating, not blaming you of course, and yes the dice were slightly in your favor in both battles, but per the real battle calculators it seems they were also not as one sided as was thinking.
So, if you would be game for it, I’d like a rematch. That way I can use what I learned about tripleA to make the battle more of a challenge. =^_^=
If you want to move on to the next victim, I’m good with that, but I’d really prefer a rematch since this really can’t be salvaged with my current level of skill in 2nd Ed.
-
No, I am cool with a rematch.
You want same side/same bid?
-
Sure, if you want. I made a few mistakes and I think if I do it again, without the mistakes, I might ingrain the right idea in my head.
I just want to be clear, I’m mad at myself, not at you or the dice. I hate it when people blame the dice! (okay fine, if you go from 1 move from winning and when you make that attack you lose 1700 IPC worth of units and do minimal if any damage, then you can complain about the dice. lol!)
I’ll start the thread later tonight or tomorrow. I have days off and really cruddy evening shifts this week (5pm to 9:30pm, almost not worth GOING to work on those.)

I learned TrippleA by playing Mr. Green 7 or 8 times on the regular boards. I made all sorts of dumb mistakes, like buying factory upgrades instead of minor factories etc. So, I hear you.
Sure, try the Axis again. Pm me when map is up.
