A rough start for the Luftwaffe.
SethTheNewb (Allies +10) vs MiamiUMike (Axis) - G40.2 - Round 2!
-
That was an ugly, ugly outcome in Norway - sorry about those dice….
-
Yeah, that was brutal. I’ll get to this game tonight, have 7 games to do tonight. Things have been a little busier, but I should still average a turn per day.
-
No problem - will look for it soon!

Sorry, I’ve been a little slow the past day or so. Partly it was due to me being a little busier than normal. But I’ve also wanted some extra time to think and hoping inspiration would strike. I’ve taken a real hard look at the map trying to figure out what if anything I can do to pull a win out of this mess. But I’m not seeing it. Not unless you suddenly started playing like the triplea ai, which you haven’t been so far. Or I get really really good dice for the next 5 turns, we’re talking never missing on anything at all.
You have an 800 TUV advantage, a you’re poised to take Moscow as early (err late) as G22 if you make the right moves/purchases, and I don’t see myself getting any traction anywhere. I might MIGHT be able to take Novgorod the turn that Moscow falls . . . but then you’ll just kick me right out of there and that’ll be that. And even if that miraculous occurs and I you fail to take Moscow . . . you’ll just be able to rebuild an army while Russia will make 3-5 ipcs/turn. 5-6 turns ago I thought I saw a shot to get this game back on an even keel. But I never was able to really close the gap.
I hereby surrender and request a third game. My bid is 12 for the allies Tech or NT. Bid limit of 1 unit per terr.
-
Oh and I’ll post.
-
Seth - good game to you too. As you see - I tend to play, it seems, too timid as the Axis in order to knock out the Allies - but, in this case I guess it worked.
Let’s go with game 3 - I’ll bid 11.
-
Ping…
-
I’m moving in my active games now. I want to take a look at the first couple of turns of your axis opening before I bid/accept your bid.
-
Being sneaky, are we? :)
-
I forgot how lucky Italy was early on. That transport living in sz97 and then in Egypt itself . … or even TrJ that let you bring two more dudes into Egypt. I probably shouldn’t have placed that minor in Egypt on UK2 though after how badly I did in sz97 on UK1.
Was I axis the first game? Or have you played axis both times? Tech or NT? I asked earlier and you didn’t respond about it. And 1 unit per terr acceptable to you?
-
I think I have been Axis twice if I recall.
No Tech is fine. And yes, one unit per territory is also reasonable. Yes - I had a very fortunate I1 to be sure…and that snowballed…
-
In that case, I’ll play the axis in game 3 and will accept your bid. Where would you like your bid?
-
11 bid - I will go with a sub off egypt, an rtl in alexandria and 1 IPC to the UK (europe)
