You know, to make up for the fortuitous double sub hits in 111 :x
I made this comment when I had overlooked the results of all the other battles. I only saw 111 and the beginning of 110 at the time.
I would not have mentioned the good result from 111 in this way if I had seen the results of France and 106.
The G1 dice seemed close enough to average that we can probably stop talking about it and move on! :lol:
If anything, they might have even favored me a tiny bit - like you said - I was hitting air instead of subs in 110
Now we’ll see what I do on UK1….
Go for an attack on the Italians, or just play it safe and make sure I clean up the German subs?Probably the latter.

Often it doesn’t really matter, but you need to know that the rules dictate that the player rolls dice for battles within a certain prescribed framework
- Rocket attacks and SBR battles
- Amphibious assaults (with requisite naval battle occurring right before each assault)
- All other battles
So for this J1, you should have rolled them in this order:
- Z35
- Phillipines
Then, any order you please
Many players (myself included) are not aware of this rule until someone points it out (Fucioneta pointed it out to me, much to my surprise).
If one player follows the rule and the other doesn’t, it is potentially an unfair advantage to the player who doesn’t follow the rule.Now you know, and you can spread the news to your opponents in the future

Or could you roll all the naval battles that clear the way for the amph assaults and then roll the amph assaults themselves?

Yes.

Page 18, under “Step 3. Land combat”
It says after the sea battle, you put the ground units on the battle strip.
Playing face to face, you would only have one battle on the battle strip at a time.
To put the ground units on the battle strip after resolving the sea combat necessarily means that the corresponding land battle will take place next, before any other battle.Of course, with multiple amphibious assaults, the player has complete control over the order of them, but all amphibious assaults must be resolved before resolving any non-amphibious assaults, just as all SBR’s must be resolved before any amphibious assaults are rolled.
And yes, at times this rule about the order of combat is critical. Unfortunately, Veqryn doesn’t see it and hasn’t programmed Triple A to enforce it (and yes I’ve tried).
