Ah! Now I see it
Commercial advertising on the forum ?
-
This Neppagames person uses the forum to promote their new product, not only once, but now several times.
And instead of just giving a link (preferably once), it has to announce every new development phase to us.If it was a “fan” or a gamer who keeps us informed, i wouldn’t mind. But, this is a commercial ad, without paying for it, without being invited.
I want to raise the question wether we should allow that, or not.
If we keep allowing that, maybe that we then get spammed by tobacco companies or gun manufacturers?
I consider this kind of ads as spam, and the posters as trolls, and would like to see the forum free of that.

I have no problem with anyone announcing any new games on this site, however if it is a company person advertising the game I think they should have to submit a request to djensen, or the moderators, if he is busy.

I kind of doubt that, because even with “free” advertising that could be put up on this site, it’s market would be too limited to have much of an effect. (not to mention the moderators could just remove it anyway)

I don’t like having to nuke spam, but at the same time i’ve done it more than a few times.
I think that if DJ can pull in some revenue from advertisers - i’m all for it. I’ve clicked the links a few times (note the amazon.com one in the top right corner).
Also if DJ chooses to advertise his own product here - well, he is the site-owner - that’s life. Freedom of speach and all that.
Still - i don’t like spam. -
i dont have a problem with ads on the website, as long as they stay away from two kinds: popups, and whatever you call those that stay in the window, and follow the scrolling, but that you cant get rid of.
