I guess my lack of travel experience leads me to assume things that I would otherwise realize. So they just put those keys on there? I thought there was some sort of Alt + [button] you had to press or something like that.

No, we have all Umlauts here: ä ö ü Ä ö Ü ß,
then the z and y key are changed, as we need the z more often than the y. At least, some of the signs have different positions.

And that is only one other keyboard. The Scandinavians, the French, probably the Turks will have other keyboards, and don’t forget all those that use a different alphabet.

Excellent! I would have asked about the Scandinavians, but don’t they all speak different languages? I would guess the Turks definitely, as they use the Cyrillic alphabet :-? .

The Scandinavians all speak different languages, but they use the same letters (exception are the Finnish, who use Umlaute quite a lot).

For turks…… never say to one of them that they use the kyrillic alphabet.
