And i have to agree with the doves out there. why is it necessary for America to own all of the seas? And would it be such a tragic event for teh US navy to not be dropping sonar all over the place? I mean there’s preparedness and then there is overkill. -

True. It’s not like we can blanket the entire ocean with sonar anyway. A determined group of people with a nuclear sub would most likely be able to evade the Navy long enough to get their missile fired. They would likely get captured, but that wouldn’t bother them.

I have no problem with the Navy owning the entire ocean, it’s just the fact that they can’t patrol it all. Now, if we had underwater cities, that would put a different spin on the matter.

With the exception of TG and GI, you guys are just bizaare. Although i’m not a USie, i think that America should take care of its deficit and healthcare situation first, internal security second, and after helping to end poverty and preventable diseases THEN it might consider such silly, irresponsible, marine destroying persuits as covering the oceans with sonar. I don’t even see why this is America’s duty, or in her best interests. It is world-dominating persuits like this that sets America up as a target by everyone else.
