13L G40 Boldfresh (Allies +12) vs. Me1945

  • 12

    but you know what, i do have a right to express frustration with what he tried to pull here.  i have now done so and we will see what he says.  presuming Jenn did actually rule correctly according to the rules.

  • 12

    just so no one could possibly think otherwise - i was in no way trying to “game the system” with Me.  I honestly and completely thought the rules actually were saying that only an active scramble was legitimate to lock in the combat movements if the defender so decided to enforce.  this is why even after Jenn ruled in my favor (can we say, in the favor of good sportsmanship?), i went to Krieghund to ask for a rules clarification so that this will not happen to any poor unsuspecting souls again.

    this sudden aggression should not stand - and I still hope that Me, even though it seems he may have the right “per the letter of the rules” to deny any changes that he will not do so in light of what so many others see as reasonable in this case.  come on Me, can we just let bygones be bygones?  i was totally playing this game under the impression that it was friendly - if it was unfriendly for you, i wish you would have told me that from the beginning and i could have been on guard for things like this.

    since Jenn left it open that anything new can be brought to her attention, i have little doubt that if Me wanted to stand his ground he would take the rules to Jenn.  At that point it becomes a judgement call from Jenn whether Me originally had intent to allow the redo of a move with no dice and an obvious scramble decision or not.

    :|

    Me, can you just let this thing go?  Please.

  • 12

    well, i just took the time to go back and review the entire thread.  i see no evidence at all that this game was proceeding under “unfriendly” auspices.  :|

    Thanks Jenn. The ruling is accepted. I did’t change my mind about the legal side of the issue, but it is what it is. The game will be certainly continued.

  • 12

    Thank you Me.

    If you do wish to continue the game as “unfriendly” then i think we should lay the ground rules.  whatever you say, i will accept.

  • 21 20 18 17 16 15 14 13

    The rules are listed in the 2nd edition book. I need you to confirm your UK6 file. And I think I6 comes only next week.

  • 12

    saying the rules are listed does not do it for me, Me.  i need to know if all of a sudden you are going to say you will not allow a noncombat move edit because it would be breaking the rules or some silly thing like that out of the blue.  i would also like to know if when i post a combat move you consider it to be final or if it only becomes final after i start rolling dice. things like that.

    what do you need confirmed?  do you mean you want me to say i will not ask for any noncombat move changes or placement changes?

    Very good then.

    I would appreciate, since nerves are frayed at the moment, if you two would hold a cease fire for 24 hours to give each other time to clear your heads.  I’d rather not see the issue compounded further because one or both of you were not thinking about the game and made a really, REALLY bone-headed mistake!  (Yes, this is from personal experience, trust me on this, you want 24 hours to clear your heads.)

    I won’t force you not to post if you really want to go ahead.  I just suggest you hold off for a day, or so.  I’ll wave the 72 hour limit for a round until the next round is posted, as long as it’s posted within 96 hours (4 days instead of the usual 3 days.)

  • 12

    thanks Jenn - wise words.  Me has already stated his turn won’t come for a few days so we should be good.  we also are not playing with the 72 hour limit - that was something i offered to Me from the very beginning.  one of the reasons he’s a bit chafed at me is that i did not like how slowly his team moved in the XDAP tournament which was under a lot of time pressure.

    Cheers!

    @Boldfresh:

    @Me1945:

    The only solution I can offer you is: you go with the original US CM file you posted before scramble, which is the way IT MUST BE, and proceed with CH6 and UK6 whatever a way you want meaning you can re-roll it, and AFTER finalizing the game I’ll give you a chance to beat me with the last UK6 currently attached file plus UK Tac from Tam you wanted to land on sz96. But, it will be treated as separate league game. Let me know, if anything is unclear here.

    i have wiped my ass with higher quality material than this post.  shame on you.

    i apologize for this post, which I made in frustration.  please forgive me Me.

    looking forward to continuing.

    here is the UK file you will be working from.  please state explicitly what you will and will not be allowing in terms of combat/noncombat edits etc.  i will be quite lenient as i never did consider this to be an unfriendly game.

  • Sooo . . .  is this game over?

    no he said I6 is coming next week.

  • Cool, just saw it’d been laying dormant and didn’t know the story. I’ll be checking this out from time to time to see what happens.

  • 12

    should be fun for a few turns at least - until Me finally gets me.  :wink:
