what is “that term limit thing” you are referring to cow?ard

  • '12

wanna flip for axis/allies straight up for our league game?

  • '12

hmmmm my move MAY already be perfect.  will be ironed out soon if
    want to change anything.

  • From reading this “novel” of posts in your game file I come away with the understanding that Cow is the “bad guy” and others want to feed him his words… Understandable if it were the case(I do not know him nor have I followed for long) but I must say that with all your useless banter Bold, I find myself rooting for Cow and Veg and in many ways feel bad for Dutch because you have created a situation where you overtook Cow as the bad guy and now have others hoping to see you eat your words. I’m all for trash talking(I am a New Yorker) but you post 5 times talking ack before anyone responds, seems more obnoxious than funny from us outsider perspectives. Good game so far and I like the neutral attack by the allies, forces the axis to consider new alternative fronts.  Well played by both teams so far.

thanks Cpt. John.  i am playing an alter ego in this game and I let everyone involved know it.  You know how in Dispicable Me where you start to love the bad guy and you are kindof rooting for the bad guy to succeed?  Kinda like that.  :-P

appreciate the input but it’s all in good fun.

    cheers

also, i don’t think cow’s a bad guy, he just rubs some people the wrong way.  i don’t happen to be one of them, since it’s quite fun to trash talk when you are playing with a trash talker, and i am going to outtrashtalk him.

now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

i would LOVE IT if the COWard could make me eat my words.  the problem is, he has NO HOPE OF DOING SO>

COW (who is scared to play a league game with me) would aggressively disagree with your assessment Cpt. Miller.  According to him, Spain and Turkey are “just 4 bucks”…  :-P

  • '12

I’m curious Cpt. Miller, are you a student of Cow’s venerable “playbooks”?

  • I think his J1 approach has merit, however I do not like going for pacific victory as often as Atlantic victory due to my preference to use Germany instead of Japan. I also like to play total victory city’s on the map for axis victory(14 cities total). Play books are just ideas and guidelines to use for an approach, but as for having a specific move and play book to follow the global game, with the advancement in air and naval bases create a much more diversified game in comparison to the old days of having a start to finish blue print like in the original.

yeah i hear ya - so you agree with me that cow’s propensity to “playbook” approaches to this game are detrimental and that he is not well suited to the real time adjustments in strategy that are necessary to be great at this game.  reading you loud and clear - and i was thinking the very same thing.

  • TripleA

My playbooks do not go past turn 1 for a reason. Variability in dice being the biggest. I do give examples of follow up moves for turn 2+, buys, etc.

The complaints I got from it were generally along the lines of, “now the axis are always winning.”

As far as Veqryn and I go… we both prefer playing Japan. Yes we are a Pacific oriented team. Germany/Italy is doing really well so I am not rushing for an early Pacific win at round 8-9 (would have attacked India if that were the case).

I can still suicide Japan’s air on an attack on Russia to make the odds of Germany’s attack on Russia near 99.9%. Both theaters look strong so I am curious which side will win first.

  • '12

    Suicide that air baby!!!  :-D

  • '12

Hmmm thats a good idea…  maybe if I could get some minor changes implemented

  • '12

I heard rumor there was a new version coming out that is implementing some changes?  Release date?

  • '12

Veq we are discussing a possible noncom change.  Will probably be settled by tomorrow afternoon but let us know if you are able to make a move sooner than monday and we will for sure wrap it up fast.

    @Veqryn:

have you considered donating to triplea?

I’ll donate a few hundred bucks if it helps get 1914 done sooner…  8-)

  • Bold, I do agree with you on the not being able to forecast future turns enough due to variables, but in Cow’s play books he states this point also and follows that up saying that there is no way of knowing each scenario. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not harping on you and Cow for secretly loving each other, I just like to scout your guys tendencies as your all very experienced players!

  • TripleA

I am a guy who still wins even after I post my strategies.

    Way better than bold.
