Before you starting posting, it was a climate of having a number of Liberal and Conservative people arguing only from that frame of reference. They are mostly gone from these forums, but in that time numerous arguments occurred and only because it was a republican-democrat fight of ideas. The politicians of WW2 and WW1 are exempt because in many cases they are also running the war and are part of WW2 History.
Nixon is often vilified by Liberals/Democrats and posting about him is political, especially due to the reference of bringing up LBJ and Nixon’s actions before he resigned.
What typically happens, is when people identify themselves as Pro Republican or Pro Democrat it begins a dialogue of political discourse marred by incessant arguing. This led to the ban on political commentary on this site.
The vast majority of posters here are American BTW. I happen to like Nixon alot ( not as much as Teddy Roosevelt) But i know we can’t post about them ( even if they are dead or alive)

Yeah I recently finished a biography on Chenault and was surprised when I saw her name in the article.
As far as the politics/history concern, I would say this article is historical. The events occurred 45 years ago. All the figures are deceased (I believe maybe Anna Chenault is alive. Too lazy to google. Wow that is pathetic Ha)
Anyway I would think an issue would have to be more current to be considered political. It doesnt matter if you are left or right wing you aren’t influencing the events of 1968.

Last Jack, thanks for your comments, I would never have known about the Anna Chenault/flying tigers connection. I’m pleased that it was not something that I missed in the article but rather your more in depth knowledge on that facet of the story and drawing the connection for others.

All i said is this is political. It is you and you alone who continues to hijack this thread by overly responding to my commentary. I know it may be hard for you to understand, but my comments are not about you, but rather this thread and too me they are accurate.

You tend to blow up my words however innocuous and make them into something more. This is not a good idea. I know it may be difficult for you, but a thread created by you is only that: a thread created by you. If you wanted to make it private, you might consider emailing to friends. In a public forum, anybody can post.
