I changed my noncombat slightly, more units in syria, fewer in baghdad.  Please use this savegame.

Also, I have to say, I think this game is very unbalanced.

I have sent every single german unit that was not in the western front cutout, towards prussia/warsaw/russia.
I have also built max units in main-germany, and sent them all to prussia.
I have also been bombing you from as soon as I could.
And I used the Austrians to kill the russians in south europe as soon as i could.

And yet, you can take and hold Warsaw, and take Prussia next turn as well.

the map is probably ballanced when both sides are experts on the map, for allot of maps this is true. however when you are new to a map playing 1 or the other side makes a world of difference. i personaly experienced this with lord of the rings aswel. there i made some good attacks with high tuv gains, but for some reasons those attacks backfired because i was ignorent to certen strategies.

positive about all this is that people can descide for themselves what maps they like and dislike, and move forward from that point.

my personal experiences are as followed:

NAP, not impressed, hard to explain, imo its missing a x-factor. meaning something that spices up the game
NWO, already 1 of my favourites
270BC, surprised by the funrate of this map, but imo it also needs some upgrades to get different good strategical options
GW, had alllot of fun but was victem to not knowing how to do a perfect first few rounds resulting in a defeat later ingame (what Veqryn is experiencing aswel probably
LOTR, really not my kind of map, I did have allot of fun with my opponent but this map uses a different kind of ballance that is a mystery to me. not even mentioning the units.

overall, very happy to try all the new stuff, and thx to V for making it all possible

well your negative impression with NAP might be because I had to switch your opponent twice, then you got stuck with someone who posted once per week, before finally dropping out

back to great war,

yes, i am a newb

but like i said, it is only the start of round 4, and there is not that much activity going on that could have changed

i sent literally EVERYTHING germany had to prussia, and I could have lost prussia THIS round if Admetus had decided to move everything to Lith last round (instead he decided to pressure romania and prussia at same time, then take warsaw instead, which is good too).

feels like a load of bull**** to me, cus now i have abandon prussia otherwise he can choose to take austrian capital from me

also, there were a bunch of clearly “required” 50% battles at the beginning of this game. 
especially if you are playing dice, these battles could really be bad:
the 3 zepplins vs a destroyer (seriously a WTF battle in dice)
the ottoman navy + airforce vs the combined uk navy (really dicey battle because both sides have battleships, so whoever wins, wins big, cus they get to repair)
the pacific naval battle (again, the UK has a BB so if they win, they win big)

to me, really close battles that are practically required, especially battles with BB’s in them, are a sign of bad game design

map is really well balanced, but suffers from ‘have to do attacks’ in first round (especially for central powers), which u actually have to win to keep the game in balance. and as u pointed out some of those are real game changers.

add that ‘have to do strategies’ and than u are facing a game with not too much replay value.

but I still love to play that map with its unique design and units… once or twice per year.
