Metabarons flight deck decals
-
Having some decals in the early war style (for Lexington, Saratoga, Yorktown, Enterprise and Hornet) would be cool. Wasn’t sure if you planned on doing some of these.
The lines are yellow and there are abbreviated markings of the ship name at the bow and stern of the flight deck.

Here is one more of Enterprise early war and mid war.
This is a good site for finding some drawings, if you didn’t already know about it.

Noticed you were missing Essex too.

:-) That’s great support, thank you very much! :-)

cbm shapes of:
Illustrious
Shinanocbm shapes are the background layers for the flight deck decals. They are related to the dimensions of the sculpts.

Thanks Dedo, these are quite nice.

What I still need is a silhouette of the flight deck of the sculpt of the italian carrier “Aquila”. Does anyone have one? Even though I got two sculpts of the Aquila I can’t scan them due to there huge island (tower part of the ship) and I don’t want to “decapitate” my italian carriers, because they are already painted.

coloured drawings of Aquila, Kostromitinowa and Graf Zeppelin
…I appreciate any support, there is still a lot to do…

First try of the HMS Illustrious.
In my opinion, the sculpt designer must be somewhat blind…definitely, this sculpt wasn’t build to the dimensions of the original. There were a lot of differences in width and length of the sculpt in comparison to detailled carrier drawings, especially it was a pain to adjust bow and stern.
However, here it is…

These are awesome.

Second one…
CV HMS Formidable 1942 (Illustrious Class)

first try of the USS wasp….

Illustrious Class Mk II
Here is the ‘pill-box’ version of the illustrious class. When I tried the former decal version, it occured that the ‘bumps’ on the flight deck (AA-guns) brought some problems about when attaching the decals. Additionally, the island (tower) shape was modified. -
First attachment of decals: USS Wasp
- hull painted simply in grey (revell 76)
- flight deck painted in white (revell 5)
- smaller pill boxes cut off

Looks very good Dedo. Keep it up man.

Count me in!! Especially if you do some of the cool Japanese camouflaged ones!

Looking Gooooooooooooooood!
