Okay, it sounds reasonable then. As Escorts primary purpose (from a game play perspective) is to take interceptor hits instead of bombers (the ability to shoot down interceptors seems incidental in comparison), I’m inclined to pair it with a rule that escorts can each protect one bomber, but any unprotected bombers take interceptor hits first. This way at least you have a reason for intercepting escorted bombers.

Hey YG have you tried it yet?
Nope, wanted to wait for a final version, gonna ask my group to try it February 9th.
-
Right on will be a fun night
-
Is it Balanced?
-
tonight is the third time I’ve tried it, first time with the latest setup
I’ve only played to round three once then I just start over because the beginning is so much funIt seems pretty well thought out to me Definitely worth a go
Changing those infantry seemed to make a difference as the first two times japan blew through china
although I couldn’t hold lenningrad I was able to make a couple nice counter attacks with russiajust setting up the board was fun for me Oz did a great job
-
I can’t say it is balanced with 100% certainty because I only get to play it with my gaming group. I would like to hear how others tackle the strategic situations the setup presents.

You do come upon the problems faced by some of the powers.
Germany runs out of steam in Russia, unless you take a turn to reorganize
Italy needs germanys help to take Egypt.
The UK, if bombed by Germany, is pinned down until it can protect its skies.
Its boats will live, but producing at London is expensive with 20 damage.Japan explodes all over asia. And the US is sent reeling. It needs to respond.

YG have you and your buddies tried this yet?
-
seems so skewed towards the axis due to the lack of British DDs and their 30+ damage to factories and naval and air bases. although i have yet to play it, this is just my initial impression. good job though…

I’ve played the Alpha 2 version 10-12 times and it was great,no waiting to go to war, the latest set up we’ve done 5-6 times. Its a very good set up, great hange of pace (new set up) some of the players didnt like the Vitchy set up….German controll of Madagascar, or that it wasnt a Larry Harris design, and how certain units got to where they are or why they were left where they were…I say just play it and take it for what it is.
Every game was much fun.
You’ll see this set up this Sept. at Oshawa, I hope we have some takers I would hate to have to play a solitare game

The biggest draw is NO WAITING!
The reason the UK is so heavily damaged is to incetivize Germany to keep the Blitz going.
Knock the UK up to 20 damage and watch them flounder for the next few turns. It really takes the pressure off the French coast so Germany can focus on Egypt and Russia.
Sea Lion is a bad idea. But bombing England so bad that the UK is better served building in South Africa (to try and keep Italy and Germany off the continent) affords Germany the important 3 or 4 turns of breathing room to get deep into Russia.Russia faces some tough choices. It can back up constantly and build up a massive stack in Moscow, but Germany will get all the cash in the south and starve you to death. Its really cat & mouse on that front.
There are some glitches in the setup, being that an all transport build for the US and an attack on Europe can throw Germany out of balance (or so some have said)
Likewise, Japan can ignore everything else on its plate and go head long for India and take it.To cure this I have been considering adding an Airbase to Holland/Belgium (so German fighters/Tacs can strike allied boats in SZ91)
And to reinforce India add another ANZAC infantry and an ANZAC AA gun
