Do you increase you Production Chart EVEN if you didn’t fight for a country? Expample: If Germany takes over Trans-Jorden, no one is there, does germany still increase by 2?

It does … though Trans-Jordan (being part of the middle east) is marked not on the main part, but on the extra part of the IPC chart.

@The_Good_Captain The rule applies in all sea battles where there are sea units allied to the attacker present, regardless of the type(s) of defending German sea units. The rule mentions only German subs because the author failed to take into account the possibility that the situation could also exist with German surface units if they were mobilized in a hostile sea zone. This oversight was corrected in the Axis & Allies Pacific Rulebook.

They do not. The printed value on the territories apply only when/if Germany captures them in which case the Allies must decide who pays Germany that number of IPCs. The relevant rule is on page 19/20 of the Europe rulebook.

Specifically, the “note” on page 20 reads, “The loss of Middle Eastern countries does not lower the Allied players’ income on the chart.”

The Middle East is strictly a liability to the Allies in this game.

Well, that’s the way I played until the other day. When my friend taught me the rules he honestly thought the allies could share funds. I finally questioned it on Friday after he bought 5 fighters and six tanks for the Soviet Union. Apparently, either he and his dad glanced at the rules about allied soldiers being turned into Soviets when in a Russian province and thought sharing of IPCs was allowed, or his dad just pulled a fast one on him. (The first time my friend played he was Germany.) However, before that point we had never used that rule to its fullest extent, since we normally had another player and no one wants to give all their income away.

germany is in a wierd position. germany in A&AE starts off in a pickle like it does in the origanal. they have a big military, plenty of territory, but a small amount of ipc to start. however they dont have the stamina to last a grudge mach. that is why you need a good basic strategy the first few rounds, and evolve it as the game goes on. you need to conquer the sea and maintain good preassure in the USSR. you need to build 2-3 destroyers each turn for about 5 or so turns. then you need to bominate the sea. by taking and keeping the convoy routs, as well as destroying the allied navy. after turn 4-5 build a few transports, and inft. send them to the middle east. by doing this you get much needed ipc. on top of that you can continue to transport small amounts of troops over there. this opens up a small defeansive force that can march slowly to moscow. however make sure there are a few tanks with it. if you take this force and combine it with your main force in the west it will devosate the USSR, without the other allies to support her. and once you take the USSR, you obviously have a good lead. but you need to pump out a few ships during this process. if you loose the sea the allies can land troops in the european continent.

i’m pretty sure the money russia get’s in the convoy is supposed to be from the usa, The far east money isn’t represented too well. They don’t get it when archangel falls because this is where the allies landed their supplies.
if the game were 98% realistic, it would have to start earlier. If it were 98% realistic, and it started in 1941 germany would win since they wouldn’t make the same mistakes they did in the real war. I could argue that the allies made most of their terrible mistakes before the war started. Germany made a few key mistakes once the war was underway that cost them the war.
regardless, it’s a fun game
