This question has been in my thoughts for a few days. What’s your thoughts on this subject?
Not declare war on Germany and Italy, otherwise not sure really. I think they would have wanted to stay out. Thy couldn’t have stayed out if the Philippines had been attacked, but I think they would have stayed out for some time if it was over the Dutch possessions.
I am sure they would never have been so unprepared in the Pacific, at Pearl especially, if it had worked out this way.
( I know this is old, don´t blame me for that)
I think they cut off al ties with japan, but they´re not going to war unless the phillipines were attacked.
They were very isolationist, and I don´t think congress sees an japanese attack on SE asia (without american colonies) as a reason good enough to vote for a DOW.
