If moilami has the first save, then use that.
I suspect he won’t because when I looked at the save I saw that only the Play-by-forum part is turned on, while the play-by-email part is turned off.
However, everyone should have all the dice emails.
The rules for Forum and Email play are fairly simple: The dice emails are the “official” turn. The savegame is not.
Here is normally what happens when TripleA fails to upload the savegame, or the forum stops it, or w/e.
1. Check and see if you actually did the turn in PBEM/PBF.
There is a chance that instead of clicking “start pbem”, you clicked “start local game”.
See if you have any dice emails from the turn. Did TripleA skip through the “end turn” phase without asking you if you wanted to upload the savegame/turn-summary?
If you have no dice emails, and triplea completely skipped the upload turn part, then you did the game in local mode.
Local games don’t count, because there were no dice emails (so there is no way to trust if it was the real turn or if you just did a bunch of local games until you got one you liked).
So if you did a local game, you will need to redo the whole turn as PBEM/PBF.
2. If it was PBEM/PBF but the upload failed (and triplea is still open), Just save the game and upload it manually.
Start making a post in this thread, and click “additional options”, and then click “attach file”, and add the savegame.
You can also add the turn summary (by copying and pasting from triplea), or not. That part doesn’t matter since the important part is having the savegame.
IF the forum is completely down, just manually email the savegame to your opponent instead.
3. If the PBEM/PBF failed to load, and triplea is now closed for some reason, Try to recover the game by immediately loading the “autosave”.
The autosave should save after the combat phase is done. This means you’ll have to redo your non-combat moves, which is not a problem normally. The important part is that the battle results will be the same (same as the dice emails show).
If you are playing a game with convoy raids or something, you may need to use edit mode to make sure the savegame matches the dice emails.
Now just do the same as step 2, which is uploading or emailing the game save manually.
4. If all of the above fails, and the autosave does not work, Then you will have to redo the whole turn using Edit Mode to make sure the battle results match whatever the Dice emails show.
The dice emails are the law. Just run the whole turn again then use edit mode to adjust the battle results to match the original turn and dice emails.
Same thing happens if there is an unrecoverable crash during a battle. If any dice were thrown, and the autosave doesn’t work, then you have to use edit mode to make sure everything matches the original dice emails.
Hepster should try to do one of the above, then post the new savegame.
