Hi, I am looking for an opponent. Please contact me here or at my email adress dan@ejstrup.dk
A bit about myself:
- I have played Global 1940 very little so far; 1-2 games on the “physical” board with friends, just the Europe version though. Also, I am currently playing a couple of PBEM-games with a friend (one vs. each other, one team game vs. two other people), each of those PBEM-games have only progressed a couple of rounds, though.
- I feel I am pretty familiar with the TripleA software by now (amazing software by the way, great work).
- Overall, I am pretty new to the game. Have never played a league game before, so I might need a little instruction along the way. Not too much I think, though, as mentioned one of my two active online games is an online PBEM game (team mode, 2 vs. 2). So I think I have learned most of what I need to learn regarding how to bid, set up the game, post turn summaries etc.
- Back in the day (like 10 years ago) I played a lot of the axis version available then, 1942 I think it was called. I played online as well. By the way, this new version (1940 Global) seems even better than the old one, more balanced, not so few “optimal” strategies, more unit types, more fun. Looking forward to play the game more.

You’re going to love G40 on TripleA playing in the league, I think, Dan
If you’re not familiar with this document, you should check it out. I have compiled a running list (most of these issues have been added to the game notes in Triple A too, if you check that out) of rulebook rules that Triple A does not correctly apply.

Thanks Gamerman, I will check out the link

Looking for a closely matched opponent (or two) who I haven’t played yet this season.
-
Not very many who are closely matched to you.
I will be starting our game back up now

:-D
I suspect my PPG is a little inflated right now, but either way, I’m not crazy picky (one slot left).

Cow is back.

@Cow:
Cow is back.
I’m claiming your first match…. dice or lowluck? (Low luck has been allowed this year and I am contemplating a low luck game - but I’ll take dice also - just wanted to ask.
-
I am interested in starting more games after some embarrassing mistakes
I don’t promise to be more thorough, but I can promise several turns a day on every weekday, so at least if I’m not a challenge, you can finish the game fast. (Just don’t ask souL)

Looking for another g40 game tech or not, if interested pm your bid thanks.
-
Looking for my first 1-2 games of G40 2014 league:) dice no tech. Would prefer to a set bid agreed upon by both sides, with teams switch after first game. Ideally tier 1 or 2 but all are accepted.

New idea!
Just brainstorming here:
I want to do a league game where both players do a write up for their turns AS THEY PLAY. The thing is I want it to include long-range goals, etc. Maybe both players post in a separate thread apart from the file itself. The trick is, I don’t want the posted analysis to affect the other players turns. I can promise to not read my opponents thoughts until the game is over or something.
Write as little or as much as you want, but I’d like to see analysis of the what and why you do things. Overall strategy, what you thought of some key battles from the last turn, which of your opponents moves/buys has you worried or not, etc.
As an example:
Germany Round 1
My overall strategy right now is to go “balls deep” into Russia from Turn 1, DOW right away. I’m even going to attack with my planes, and let the UK have some of its starting navy. To that end (explain key plane movements, supporting Italy, etc.)
The big downfall to this strategy has usually been having a second front before Russia totally collapses. To counter it, I am going to buy a couple of naval units per turn (DD/SS), and maybe a fighter. Have the fighters fly toward Moscow at the last minute, with the hopes of completely knocking out Russia with enough time/money left over to counter any Allied threat.
I love talking strategy, so I’d like to do a stratgy-in-action kind of narrative.
Any takers? i know we had talked about doing this before, Karl7. Are you still up for it? I love to get wordy and geek out about A&A whenever I can.
-
Whack, why not have both players keep their narrative offline and then show it at the end?
-
i suppose that would work to. I’m up for either. I had envisioned it as a spectator sport. “Oooo, can’t wait to see what Whack does on Round 4, did you see that last turn?!?” lol
