Hi guys. Yes, I was in quite a pickle when that happened, and I had no pre-dertermined OOL other than default TripleA. The reason why the AC was sunk was that I was trying to see how to best preserve your fleet (play like you guys would have, I guess).
So the first round, I got unlucky and rolled only two hit, so I took the BB and SS (instead of AC), because I did figure you were going to want your AC intact, and you were only loosing 1 point of D.
But then in the second round, I hit with the SS, and I knew 2 more hits (on average) were coming, so I chose to take one hit on the AC. Then two more hits came, at which point it seemed like both fleet were going to get damaged pretty bad. Please remember that I have to choose your casualties before rolling to hit I knew what you guys would roll, and instead of getting good rolls (well, one extra “hit” in this case), you guys could have rolled bad (like only 2 hits), leaving your fleet super weak against around 3 planes. So I chose what I thought to be in your best interest, meaning that any surviving units (planes), would survive on Gibraltar and not be exposed like your BB and CRU are.
If you guys want to change your 2nd round casualties, I’ll certainly agree, but we’ll have to re-roll Germans dice for round 2 and then see how the battle pans out. The game is made in such a way that defenders have to choose their casualties before they know what their own dice will be. If you guys roll the average 3 hits (or below), then I might choose to go on to round 3. I think we’ll agree that it’s fair to everyone.
Let me know which you choose (start from Germany rolls of round 2 OR keep the game as it is), or even if you want to pull in a referee (Garguantua), which would also be fair.
