    i thought with the GIB harbour damaged that the bulk of the usa ss’s couldn’t move three spaces?? WTF?

    the fgt scrambles and the ss fight for the first rd. I would like to choose loses as they occur. is this possible?

    The harbor at Gibraltar has 2 damage out of 6, I think you have to choose territory to see the damage on the facility.

    You can certainly choose the order of loss.  I didn’t ask and should have, but I thought you would go with standard
    1.  free hit on carrier
    2.  sub
    3.  sub
    4.  second hit on carrier
    5.  cruiser
    6.  destroyer
    7.  transport (in the case of spill over hits from the submarine attacks but fighters are still around)
    8.  transport (in the case of spill over hits from the submarine attacks but fighters are still around)
    9.  transport (in the case of spill over hits from the submarine attacks but fighters are still around)

    It’s possible but not likely for the US cruiser to hit and score a hit on the fighter in the second round when you run out of ship casualties.

    It’s reasonable to expect the two subs to be killed on the first round.  If you really mean to keep them, either they need to submerge on the first round or you need to provide a different loss order.

    I did that and didn’t see any damage indicated. Perhaps I did something wrong? The rule states that on harbor damage less than three, there isn’t any impact on the functionailty of the harbor correct?

    would it be possible to roll the rd one dice and then let me select the casuality’s?

    how is this if you have only three hits on rd one then go with the OOL you list below. If you have 4 or more then lose the CV, CR, DD, SS and then submerge the ss on rd 2

    I can do this, OOL will be as follows:

    3 hits or less (2 hits by SS, one hit assumed to be by CA/CR)

    4 hits or more (3 hits or more by SS, one hit assumed to by CA/CR)
    1.  free hit on CV
    2.  second hit on CV
    3.  CA
    4.  DD
    5.  SS
    6.  SS

    When I run the combat, TripleA will fire the ten submarines first and ask me allocate those hits, and then will fire the cruiser last.  That’s due to only the cruiser being eligible to hit the fighters.  I’m going to assume that the cruiser will hit (50/50) when I look at how many hits the ten submarines cause.

    I have to admit the dice were very kind to me in those two combats.  Getting to retreat after killing the last transport was the icing on the cake though.
