UK could had landed to Vastra Gotaland and from there proceed to Stockholm. The canal access was totally unneeded for him. Even my aunt could understand that.
The only reason you won this is because you had free navy by UK.
I ask you one more question after I have found the UK to quote.

Earlier in this thread there was griping about the invincible position of the Britain because of the naval disparity. I can see your point about the disparity, this is my first game on this map but after a few turns to get the hang of it the British navy is very hard to stop.
Here, the delusional UK thought that he would have a chance to get 7 cities, lolololol.
What I want to know and what will be my last question is that did you manage to talk UK to believe that you would not take Stockholm before UK can get 7 cities too? If you did, then that was some EPIC politics.
If you did not, then UK was just your free navy.

Are you not a man enough to admit that your victory was COMPLETELY made possible by UK being your free navy, and not even trying to deny the win from you? Who had access to Stockholm? UK. What UK did? Fight against France. You two were never in war during the whole game, not even then when UK was the only one able to deny the victory from you.
You are total shit if you can’t admit that fact.

Let’s assume UK goes all in on me (and lets you grab Spains VS and win the game like you planned to)
I have fast reinforcments in Stokholm (3fortress per turn plus up to 11 land units moving in Sweden each turn)
UK can come in with a big navy, yeah, but after that, he won’t have any reinforcments coming soon, while I can build 5battleships/round.
I am producing 110, he his producing 60.

End of story, this game is done, you blabbled a LOT on it, you lost! Next time you’re playing France, instead of wasting tons of IPCs on an useless navy that holds UK off for few turns, build what you are strong for: LAND UNITS, and conquer Austria/Spain/Italy, claiming victory!

The two nations that have it easy in the 5player game are France and Austria. Especially Austria as he starts with 4 cities. If he goes ALL IN on Russia and France is so stupid to let it happen, after Russia falls, austria will have 7 cities (4 starting ones, 2 russian + stokholm)

To my mind, this thread has served its purpose, in training us up on diplomacy rules and finally generating a real 8-player game.
I’m going to focus on that game, and not take part in any grudge match on here.
You guys are welcome to keep discussing this, but I’m out.

Stop blabbering that nonsense, though there was something good in it, you clearly understand why you won with your free navy.
Had UK tried to take Sweden, hereby doing something else then being your free navy, he would had had to invest on Sweden. If you still wanted to take Sweden, then you would had to invest on Sweden.
UK investing Sweden would had been away from UK Medi operations, which would had meant I could had invest more on Central Europe.
You investing to Sweden would had been in turn away from your Central Europe investments.
All that together would had meant more power for France in both Mediterranean and Europe, and less power for you in Mediterranean and Europe.
Now you can say that you would had not contested Sweden. That does not change the fact that UK fought all the time against France (what he is entitled to do), and never at any point against you, even when he could had stopped you from winning (when he should had fought against you no matter what by taking Sweden). I said this to him well in advance, and he replied to me something idiotic “maybe I take Paris” :roll:
You got free navy by UK, which never did anything to deny win from you.

Why you say I would had had to bribe Ottomans to attack you when I conquered Ottomans, getting free access to their lands? Which in turn was so shocking to you that you moved in your turn remains of the Ottoman troops, like you would had been commander of them :roll:
It was fair for me to expect that UK was something else than your free navy.

The Ottomans should play after Austria, but Russia has moved already. As this is the case, you’re more than welcome to turn existing Ottomans to neutral :cry: gg!
