Not sure if I want to play FFA5 anymore. The England is in my opinion in a ridiculous position in it. It is the only nation who is not more or less forced to fight against someone. So, it can just keep building a ridiculous Navy and pick neutrals and random nations from Sweden, Africa, or Spain. So, the end game is guaranteed for England without problems, and depending on how long the continent is fighting against eaach other England will be more or less unstoppable.

The other thing on England’s side is Navy Bombardment. Free shots each turn against coastal areas, and when England is the one to become OP because of the Navy it always builds, there is just no sense. The least to do to fix this could be to allow bombardment from coastal fortresses to the sea. That is also what happens in real.

In FFA8 I have understood what UK does is engulf slowly but surely Spain and then become unbeatable.

UK has other problems tho.

You cant rival his Navy but he will never have an impact in Europe.

PS: in my last game I was France and UK was very aggressive on me. Spain was mine tho’

Why should England care of central/western europe, when they can go to Sweden, Africa, and Spain? The only reason for them to care of Europe is to make sure France can’t expand anywhere, that is harass France and expand in power all the time while doing it. The only way to hold England is to give France a chance to hold England, and if the ways to end game are defined like that, there is not much point in playing this map.

This game I of course will finish, but I am definelty not interested of FFA5 anymore. The map is broken in my very harsh opinion.

France has land access to Spain, dont understimate this

I think the lack of aeroplanes unbalances this map beyond ridiculousnes. England=Navy become totally OP, which is even more annoying because Navy did not play that major role in real in NW.

Don’t have that much time to watch it. I may do it later though.

I am not saying I am absolutely right. I am just very suspicious of this, and might want to try to play as England to see how it goes.

I am not saying France is weak.

I am saying the game is broken because there is nothing to counter OP naval bombardments. There is no aeroplanes, there is no fortresses to bombard ships. This could be fixed by removing naval bombardments or adding fortresses being able to bombard ships.

I am suspecting that most of the time well played UK becomes unbeatable, unless other players begin to focus only on UK. The same can be said of course of any nation, but the difference exist in that other nations have not even close the options UK have. UK have tons of options while the rest are quite limited in what they do - yet UK gets the most benefit of the most broken feature in game, the naval bombardments.

If I would want to play major navy map I would play Pacific.

I got diced in Constantinople. That, however, made me an even more fanatical dice dude. One very bad dice and the whole game changed. For FFA in my opinion dice is mandatory.

That defence issues is just related to the Free End Game for UK. None can do anything to UK before they have bigger navy, and UK is the only one who is safely guaranteed in all cases to just build navy. Try to match UK’s navy and you lose your lands.

Building just Navy UK makes sure none can conquer it, and later UK can use the OP navy to expand uncontrollably. If someone tries stop UK, then he will be ruined while UK is just doing what is the best for UK.

The Only way to beat UK is for some to be so victorious against other nations that he can build a navy to beat UK’s navy.

Broken beyond words, in my very harsh opinion.

Fix OP Naval Bombard.

Wait. It has been fixed in WW2 maps.

This map is just not my cup of tea anymore.

Ottomans open borders with the Republic, so that the Republic can sail to the Black Sea and destroy Russian navy hiding in there.

Due to mounting political pressure from Russia, Austria demands that France become full allies… or, failing that, we must downgrade our relations to a ceasefire.

The Counsil has unaminously chosen to attack Constantinople a second time, and more, The Republic fully supports total war in Constantinople. The French troops has got clear orders to show no mercy to the evil empire in this decisive battle between good and evil. Further, if Constantinople is conquered, the troops are allowed to ravage and loot for two weeks as much as they want in Constantinople.

The Republic answers to Austria that Russia is in no position to demand anything from the Republic. Michel Ney, the marshal of France, has got direct orders from Napoleon to capture and deliver Catherine to “Great” in a cattle cage to Paris, where she will become personal brood mare for Napoleon.
