Calling the cmdr.
-
I PM’ed Gamerman already.
Sorry, just got my internet back last night (late) and now I’m home sick. Posting in-between naps right now, trying to get re-caught up.
-
@Cmdr:
but I would definitely say if it’s been 6 weeks for one player waiting for the other, then the other player has forfeited.
OK, Hobo, congratulations on reaching the finals - we should start bidding
Rolling a d6, even number, Hobo bids first
Odd number, I bid firstRolling 1:

Awaiting your bid
Here’s to a fun game for both
-
whoa now! No one said it could be a FUN game! No fun!

OK, I have made some improvements to the league standings spreadsheet.
Now, as we had last year, we have Axis win pct and Allies win pct by tier (PPG)
Also, individual player’s axis and allies results are presented more clearly, along with individual win pct with axis and with allies.Analysis:
Overall the Allies have had more wins than the Axis ALL YEAR, BUT -Tier 1 players are having more success with the AXIS, even more success than last year!
Tier 2 players are having more success with the AXIS than the Allies. MrRoboto singlehandedly skews these results with 20 Allied wins over weaker players (except Stalingradski), but Roboto also has 3 Axis wins over Karl, and Karl favors the Allies (although even Karl has a higher win % with Axis)
Tier 3 players are having the same results with Axis and with Allies.
Tier 4 players are the reason that the Allied win percent is higher than the Axis overall. They are 2-37 with Axis and 4-18 as Allies. Most of the 37 losses were at the hands of tier 1 and tier 2 players, while the average PPG of opponents who gave them the 18 losses as Allies were clearly not as high. Conclusion:
With current bidding amounts, the Axis still have a significant edge. We are bidding a bit too low as Allies. -
Nice work Gamerman. We all thank you for your work and commitment on this forum.

As you have analyzed already correctly, a big amount of those losses were against me. I’m specialized on playing Allies!
-
Thanks Gamer all this statistics mean a lot to us :)
This league season is great :)
-
Great job, thanks gamerman!
Do you have any data about the average bid? Perceiced Tier 1 and tier 2 players allowed larger bids for the Allies than last year. In my memory bids >+12 were rare last season and happen often this season. Or is this just biased?
-
I appreciate the acknowledgements - thanks guys. Just doing what I enjoy
JDOW, I have not tracked bid amounts. It does seem like bid amounts are a little bit higher than last year. I have received bids of 12 and 14 (twice) recently against tier 1 players, including in the playoffs.
My point is that whatever bid amounts have been so far this year, it looks like they’ve been a little too low! :-)Right now I think the Allies should get a minimum of 14 (when there is a limit of one unit per territory/zone) if you want a 50/50 game against equal players.
This is, by the way, the best balanced global A&A game ever, if you measure the bid amount as a percentage of TUV on the board at startup -

A&A made an appearance in the Big Bang Theory this week, and was part of the script. One of the discussion threads about it is provided above
Thought a lot of players might miss the thread, so am providing the link here

Overcame a sneaky surprise loss of Moscow by putting a cork in Persia that I couldn’t unplug… ;)
Well played!
-
Alright! Whack, please start a game with Amon ASAP
Karl can’t wait to kill the winner!
Infra? MagicQ? How is your game progressing?
By mutual consent, we could have the winners of both of these brackets play each other!? We’ll talk about it when the time comes
-
Oh, and the playoff brackets are at this location, for any who don’t know what’s going on
-
By mutual consent, we could have the winners of both of these brackets play each other!? We’ll talk about it when the time comes
and the winner of that game gets gamerman - if they beat gamer in two straight they steal the 2013 league crown!!! there’s some spice!
-
who starts the biding in our game?
