I will bring my idea about playoff finals, in this case final only.
I suggest as i said earlier that the final game should be played in two matches at the same time.
So the finalists play one game as axis and allies in the same time. If it finishes 1-1 then they play a third one.
This how we can see how do they manage in both rolls and we see one more interesting game, probably two.And the best thing it wont cost us much time.

Speaking generally AND NOT assuming I am in the final myself: Just in case, I would be opposed to play those games simultaneously, rather fundamentally so.

Your post made me realize that we need a separate stickied (and locked) thread for the league standings. Whenever Guerilla Guy, a moderator with actual edit powers, sees my PM it will be so.
Cmdr Jennifer is in charge of the playoff results for the top 8. She has not posted an updated bracket since the Alex/Cow result.

Top 8 is fixed, so winners play winners.
So if you win, then you will play the winner of allweneedislove vs hank13.
