There’s been a lot of posts and discussion, so I’ll post the link to the sign up sheet again

It’s looking like we will have 2 additional (total of 3) playoff brackets, because we already have 7 players signed up on the first day and they’re not starting for 2 1/2 months from now. That is good.
I will be limiting brackets to 8 players, so no one will have to play more than 3 games.
It’s quite possible we will have more than 2 additional brackets (if we end up with 20+ players signed up)

Oh, and for clarity:
Minimum 4 games completed by 10/31/13 to qualify. No minimum PPG - all league players with 4 games completed are welcome.
If there is more than 1 additional playoff, then I will be dividing the players by 10/31/13 ranking. Top 8 tier1, tier2 players signed up but not qualifying for the official league playoff of the top 8 win% will be grouped, followed by the next 8 after that, etc.
Reason I point this out is because I want you to know if you sign up for the playoffs you will be matched up against players who have had the same level of success as yourself, so there shouldn’t be many blowouts, and there should be a lot of hotly contested, fun games. A 1.80 PPG player won’t be in the same playoff as a 3.50 PPG player assuming we have enough interest to have at least 2 more brackets (3 would be awesome - the ranges of players in each one would be narrower).

Signed up. Can’t remember which tier I’m in anymore so just signed up for the Tier 3/4.
Hoping once I finish a few more games I might slide into Tier 2 before the end of the year… ;)

I just abolished segregation.
There’s actually no need to specify what tier you’re in. Just sign up. Players will be grouped appropriately when the time comes.
We already have 11, so it’s looking like there will be at least 2 additional playoffs/tournaments, for a total of 3+ different playoff/tourneys at the end of the year! Should be exciting. -

How strict are people here when it comes to slow play? Is it considered rude to post “bump” right when the 72 hour mark has been passed? One of my opponents had his last post done 83 hours ago, and I am unsure if I am a cocky douchebag if I give the bump warning now.

It’s up to the individual players.
I feel it is good sportsmanship to allow extra time if forewarned of a situation. I will also hear extenuating circumstances like “I dropped my computer off to be serviced and the service department did not give it back for 14 days.” Right now is back to school time so the service departments are slammed and not everyone knows how to fix a computer. (Surprised some people know how to turn on a computer, to be perfectly frank with you!)
If you want to post a bump at 83 hours, go for it. 72 is the minimum. If you want to wait for 96 hours you can. I wouldn’t see it as a jerk move if a bump was posted at 72 hours, 1 minute against me (unless of course I said ‘hey, I’ll be out for the next 4 days, you okay with that?’ and they said ‘yes’)

Right. Some people will have smoke coming out of their ears if they get bumped, but the rule is there for a reason. If you’re concerned, try sending them a PM first.
It takes 3 bumps plus one more 72 hour delay to lose a game, so technically 1 bump doesn’t hurt anything and neither does 3, as long as there is no 72 hour delay after that.
Anyone starting a league game has agreed to the bump rules, knowingly or not, and you are entitled to use them. But like Jenn said, use discretion and sportsmanship.As an example, I currently am giving a break to JapanDOWturn1fan (laptop broken) and Gargantua (new to the league), two games I am enduring long delays on.

That said, I assure you that Jenn and I will enforce the bump rules and 72 hour rules to the minute, barring extenuating circumstances (like a post or a PM pleading for more time, with a good reason) or a really good explanation from the bumpee.
This is because if the rule is not enforced, it may as well not even be there.
If I were you and this is an unexplained 72 hour absence, I would bump. If your opponent is upset, you point him to the league rules on page 1 of this thread, and you remind him that it takes (effectively) FOUR bumps to claim a win, etc etc. -
