Yes, it’s best of five now.  So as soon as you get 3 wins against an opponent, then you have to stop.

  • Awesome, thanks

    @seththenewb:

    Awesome, thanks

Null perspiration, chummer.  That’s what I am here for.  It’s not to win games, lol!

  • <cough>IF you have completed 13 games against 5? or more opponents

Jenn, come on, you make up the rules - at least repeat them accurately please

Eligibles for best of 5 are highlighted in blue on my spreadsheet.  Also, apparently you (Seth) have not read the color key at the bottom of the spreadsheet, which is at the bottom.

You have played 13 games and are highlighted in blue, so you can play anyone best of 5.
You can even play more than that and I will record it along with the points, but it will not count officially for playoff purposes or posterity (if Jenn saves her final official rankings or something)</cough>

  • 6 opponents

  • @Gamerman01:

have not read the color key at the bottom of the spreadsheet, which is at the bottom.

Sorry, that was an unintentional mistake to say it twice

By the way, IT’S AT THE BOTTOM

Lol, see, you to can have issues with your posts!

Yes, you have to have all the prerequisites to be able to expand the number of games you can play your opponents again.  It’s an effort to give everyone a chance to play you.

  • So if U have more than 13 games played

the max number of games per player is 3 games unless the score is 2-1?

  • @Amon-Sul:

So if U have more than 13 games played

the max number of games per player is 3 games unless the score is 2-1?

No, if you have more than 12 (or 13 or more, in other words) games played, then you can play someone until one of you has 3 wins.

So it is possible to go 0-2 against such a player, and then win the next 3 and be 3-2.  After that, games are not officially counted by Jenn (but I will still count them, unofficially  :-D)

Thats what i sadi. So 3 games is the max , but if the score is 2-1 after 3 games then U can have it more. Like tenis match in grand slam hehe

Ok, god i have it confirmed i thought until recently U can play 5 games ehhe

  • “Best of 5” means you play until someone gets 3 wins, because then they have won more than half of the 5 games.  Is that maybe where things got “lost in translation”?

“Best of 3” means you are done at 2-0, because someone won more than half of the 3 games already.

  • i did not know it was best of 5.

i read somewhere here that is 5 games. So that is what led me in the wrong direction.

    Thanks for the information :)

    Correct. Â

    last post on page 17:

    Here’s the revised ruling:

    • If both opponents have more than 12 completed games with at least 6 other players, then they may engage in another game.  If this should make it so each player has the same number of wins against the other (2 and 2) then a 5th tie breaker game may be played.
Considering the limit is currently 2 games with any specific pair of opponents with a 3rd game possible in the case of a tie, then having 6 unique opponents should not be hard to accomplish, if you have 12 games.

So if both you AND your opponent have 12 completed games, and you have both played against at least 6 different people (so yourself + 5 other members) then you may play up to 5 games instead of up to 3 games.  I’ll count a maximum of 3 wins then, instead of a maximum of 2 wins and it will be from the first reported game completions. Â

I can play myself and have it count for league standings? Can I create a 2nd avatar and use that to rack up the 2 losses.

  • '18 '17 '16 '11 Moderator

you are a player, so you play 5 other people in the league and have 12 games minimum.

  • I think you’ve lost the thread Jenn. So NOW you’re saying we only need 12 games against at least 5 other players? What happened to 6 different opponents?

I was just getting on the awkward wording when you said both players need to play against at least 6 different people and then included the parenthesis that says yourself. I know what you meant, but as written it sounds like you can play yourself and have it count in the league.

  • I’m confused

Fortunately, it’s rare for somebody to have actually played 13 games against less than 5 (6?) opponents
In fact, if it’s 5 OTHER players, then….

    4 players X 3 games = 12
It’s impossible to NOT have played at least 5 OTHER players and play 13 games, so if it’s 5 OTHER players, then that requirement is completely unnecessary and superfluous…

  • So which is it Jenn?

I admit the first post about number of opponent played was in jest . . .  but now your response has me confused. How many opponents and how many games exactly do you need to have under your belt before a best of 5 series counts in the league?

  • '18 '17 '16 '11 Moderator

12 completed games.  At least 6 different players need to be involved in those 12 games.

Yes, the 12 games need to be COMPLETED and reported as complete before you can go best 3 of 5 games with an individual player or individual players.

  • That doesn’t help.  In fact, that makes it more confusing.  I was sure you said MORE than 12 games before, and now you’re saying 12.  Also, when you say “at least 6 different players need to be involved” I now know that you MIGHT be counting the player himself.

So you have to play against at least 5 other opponents?
It is impossible to play more than 12 games against only 4 opponents at best of 3 (3X4=12), so if you need to play 12 (13?) games, then the requirement of at least 5 opponents is needless confusion.

    PLEASE
