I’m the one who wants the credit for the league win, since I know I’m going to win.  :evil:

2v2 tournaments are fine, the only problem is that we invariably end up with a few teams where one guy starts to not show up.

2v2 tournaments are fine, the only problem is that we invariably end up with a few teams where one guy starts to not show up.

Solution:  24 hour move limitation. That would knock out the dawdlers

i’m all for 24 hrs.  maybe 48 hr total for the USA/CH/UK trio.

Allied split would probably have to be:
Player 1: Russia, ANZAC, France
Player 2: USA, China, England/India

Axis of course being:
Player 1: Germany/Italy
Player 2: Japan

Just looking at the turn order, that is.  I’m not super pleased with the whole turn order and still ponder the wisdom of moving ANZAC to after Italy since there are no significant ANZAC forces that start on the Europe board.  Of course, maybe I am not familiar with some super ANZAC strategy where ANZAC ends up with Berlin and Rome?  :roll:

The most significant thing about ANZ going after Italy is that ANZ can take a shot on Italy before Germany goes.  If ANZ/France don’t go between Italy and Germany then it makes the Italian can openers more vicious because the Allies have no chance to close it up in between, or at least with aircraft to air strike the can opening ground units so that they can’t pull their dastardly deed ever again.

But <cough>many of the decisions <cough>made throughout the DEVELOPMENT process of G40 from OOB to 2nd edition, through all the Alphas, seemed…… (so many words to choose from here) … questionable.

Including turn order.

I’d say the French have infinitely more opportunities to adjust can opener strategies by the Italia-Germans than ANZAC who has 2 infantry on that whole side of the board.  At least France starts with a destroyer, couple of cruisers, a half dozen or more infantry and a fighter (a lot more if you count what is in France itself, I wasn’t since the odds of Paris not being attacked by Germany is akin to 1/n as n increases towards infinity.)

Other changes do make sense to me, like the AA Gun rules.  I like that you can scale your defense and that they are built in on complexes since it frees up guns for the front lines, etc.  Also that they can be casualties is nice since it stopped the whole Sea Lion debate, which was hotly contested back in the day complete with could it even be stopped and should you stop it even if it could be stopped, and was it worth it for Germany to do it, etc, etc, etc, etc…(sorry, I hate uber strategies.  I want to choose to go Kill America first or kill England first, or maybe send 10 loaded transports down to Australia for kill Australia first, who cares if it is optimal, I WANNA DO IT!)
