I never played company of heroes but I have played other games by this company and I’m sure it will be a great game.
Question though, do you think it will sell as well and the original game? I have this sinking feeling that it wont because it all takes place on the Eastern front. Granted the trailer is correct in everything it says and I agree that the Eastern front is where WW2 was really decided. However, I have a feeling that American audiences, with their traditional Euro-American-centric outlook on WW2 won’t like it, even though this game will have 6 years of improved game play, graphics, and mechanics to draw from.
Thoughts?

There’s nothing more satisfying that fighting off overwhelming hordes and hordes of evil commie russians with an STG 44, or a Kar 98 with fixed bayonet, knowing there is absolutely NO possibility you will surive.
If this game provides an element of that, I’m all in. :)

Well CoH 1 had a german and US campaign, so this will probably have a SU and a GER campaign
I can’t see anywhere on the product details where it mentions a german Campaign. Soviet Campaign, yes. So I’m gutted about that!! :-(
Prefer company of heroes 1, because COH2 takes away too much stuff, and gives not enough back, and seems no different in terms of graphics and gameplay from COH1, so What has COH2 given us, apart from Russians, and general characters? Nothing, less units, less factions, same graphics, The game failed. :-(
