Because it took literally 20 minutes for me to fix the last thread. I don’t have the time to monitor a thread like that.

I had to erase more than a dozen posts in the last Top Ten Thread (6 or 7 by YB). Then, a thread popped up, with a similar name, a day later, with several posts which looked like they would lead into moderation. So, I saved myself time (slow internet connection, this ain’t easy) and locked the thread.

Let me just clarify a few things:

The locking of the second thread was entirely a pre-emptive move.

No one who posted in the second thread did anything wrong

No offense was planned

I did it because of what could happen, not what had already happened

Had I had more time available, I wouldn’t of locked it.
