I liked the skating and team play.
It is improving each olympic game.
Hockey lockout looms….

Yahoo…I grew tired of ESPN…they make it too difficult by trying to be so flashy…I just want to set my rosters and talk smack…I don’t care about the pretty colors or videos that I really don’t need to see…(their FB leagues did this to me).

I agree. I haven’t used Yahoo before, but theirs seemed more streamlined and user-friendly.
Here’s hoping. And thanks again for the invite. We both like hockey, and Star Trek it seems.

Lhoff…
What are “Cheese Curls”?
-
3rd time with labor issues under Bettman.
Nice commissioner.
Only ‘professional’ sport to ever lose an entire season to owners whim.
Gads. I agree this doesn’t look like a favorable outcome is near.

You know, like cheese puffs? I have always called them cheese curls. They go very well with ginger ale and Hockey Night in Canada.
Please see below.

If the two sides are soo greedy that they can’t figure out how to share a 3.3 billion yearly industry they don’t deserve it.

I agree with the players stance on revenue sharing. It has saved baseball…I totally had my doubts and thought for sure that they needed a salary cap…the owners need to model the revenue sharing like baseball for the small markets to survive…ok, so you may not have enough talent for a bit, but if they limit how much draft picks can earn (like they started doing in the other sports), the small market teams can take advantage of this. If the NHL is so anti-KHL, why give them a perfect chance to become huge (especially with Socchi 2 years away)?

Canadian die hard hockey fan here who will be ready to watch every Habs game whenever they get this thing settled. Got to many opinions about it to bore everyone here, but I know what the fans should do. As a third party we are weak, but if we all support one side, the fans might be the extra wieght needed to force an agreement.

No hockey :-( :x  I dont want to change my user name to "ftbtown1 :-(

Not sure Detroit can claim “ftbtown1” the same way it can for hockey. So, I’d stick with what you’ve got.

Agreed. Thank god I’m not a Lions fan, at least my Eagles are getting it done, barely.

Not very into NFL football, but will watch occassionally. However, being from Toledo, I have been a Red Wings fan since birth.

Nice, I got into hockey in the mid-eightees. Living near San Francisco, no one ever liked hockey. The wings were on ESPN a a lot back then and all though they sucked back then, I just liked them. Stevie and Adam Oates, Joe Murphy, fedyk, Rick zombo, proby, gallant, glen hanlon, Vince reindau, Chevy, chaisson, mccrimmon (rip guys) and then came the Russians. I got in with them just on time.
I always try to go to San Jose whenever they come to town.

Saw my first Habs game live last year at the Air Canada center, you would think I could see them more being such a big fan, but not at $400 a ticket. It was Matts Sundin night and my Canadiens gave the leafs a beat down 5-0. The energy in the crown was awesome, comparable to a Red Sox vs. Yankees game.
-
WOW that is pretty steep, I’m sure there are some promo deals if you look into it, I know the Sabres have a family pack for 159$ or at least it was last year ( 4 tickets 4 sodas and 4 popcorns ).
My first Habs game was 1974 in Montreal against Boston and the atmosphere was intense….Habs won 3-2, I went again a year later and the Habs won again.
I lived in Potsdam and Platsburg at the time…I was hooked, and the T.V. that came over the air was only 3 channels and one came from Canada
HOCKEY NITE IN CANADA!!! -
I still remember my first NHL game. November 17th, 1991. Detroit at San Jose in the old. Cow Palace. Sharks tied it midway through the 3rd on a goal from Brian Mullins. Final score was 3-3, the first tie in Sharks history, Nick Lidstroms rookie season.
-
I was at a Nucks Sharks game where Queen Elizabeth dropped the puck lol…
-
I love how the Canucks always had sunday night games.

Bettman is a fool he has no problem putting teams where they lost 20 million a year every year but won’t put another one in ontario (toronto or hamilton area) or bring back a team to Quebec……the canadian dollar is at par now those 2 would be no brainers.
If they are going to ask the players to give back more money which is fine at least have the courtesy to run the league well financially.
