Wanted to go. All sold out!
Considering how much maintenance tanks need when they’re new models currently in production, with lots of spare parts available, I don’t even want to imagine how much maintenance a Tiger tank that’s 70-odd years old requires or where they get the pieces for it.
What are you talking?
Doesn’t everyone have a Tiger I in their Garage? :P
Too bad you didn’t get to go… that’d be quite the site to see! And I would pay $100 for a ride :D
I would have paid that and more. Am not rich, but some things mean a lot to me and a running Tiger is one. Will see it one day: even if I have to get a job cleaning the loos at Bovington.
Realised too late that tickets were even for sale.
A friend of mine says that this place…

…has a Tiger II tank…

…which used to be in operational condition and which they would run for the public once a year. However, their most recent schedule of live demonstrations…

…doesn’t include the Tiger II, so perhaps it’s (temporarily?) inoperative.
They also have a Tiger I:
Thank you.My wife wants to see France again. Hee hee!
Would probably pop in on the way to Italy one year when Maddy is older. Always used to drive to Florence via some historical battle site.(Completely out of the way, usually.)
When I first saw the thread I thought cryptozoology, big cats in England.
My wife and I both love Tigers. Is easier for her: she can just go 30 miles to a zoo.
I need to go 150!
Maddy is a lion lover (unlucky mummy).

On the subject of which, have a look at these two BBC stories:
Was great “news” when it came out. We soon realised was rubbish.
Pity. Not enough people from Essex are eaten by lions.
I still think there is a real -lion- on the loose…
You were not convinced by the overweight tabby then?
As long as it stays in Essex, no real harm can be done.
