OK…. now that it’s my turn again,

I need you guys to upgrade your battlemap.  Download the 7 files at this website to your GA3.gim folder and over-write…  Let me know when you’ve got it going and running and I will convert our game file and we can continue…  My Battlemap is currently incompatible with yours

The upgrade puts the powers in the proper turn order in the infoview and toolbar, which helps to visualize the turn order while playing…

Be warned you will then be incompatible with other players, but direct your opponents to the download and have them upgrade too.

If you’re in a bunch of other games and if this is too big of a hassle, then I suppose I should exit stage left…

I mean, it’s ideal to switch between games so you don’t have to make the conversion piece by piece.  If you’re not playing any other global games on Battlemap, then it will be no problem, just have your future opponents upgrade before starting a new game.

It’s running, but infoview doesn’t look correct. I mean it keeps the old turn order. Was following your instruction from here (#2 is good btw):

Infoview keeps the old turn order?  I didn’t expect that…  I thought it was programmed for the infoview to match the toolbar…  Crud, I got it to work on mine, but transferring that to others doesn’t seem to be as simple as copying the files that were changed…

Go “File” “Sektor editor” and then click on a territory that belongs to the UK, USA, Italy, China, or ANZ…
Owner should be “4” for USA, “5” for China, “6” for UK, “7” for UK east, “8” for Italy, “9” for ANZ…
Let me know what yours says.  Also, please confirm that the flags in the “Info View” are in the old incorrect order, or are they in the new correct order…

Will be glad to do more about that for you.
Let me, however, tell you my personal opinion about ABattleMap. It reminds me some old people who are unwilling to  use credit cards and who continue writing checks keeping another people waiting in store lines.  This software is outdated. Formed habits is the only thing that keeps it alive.
I downloaded this program 7 month ago and did not check for updates. May be I missed something important? Anyway I can re-install ABattleMap.  Please give me a link to the most recent ABattleMap files.

Go to the first (oldest) post of the thread to download the installer.  Then let me know if that works.

I hear you and I like to be up to date as much as anybody, but ABattlemap is not obsolete, it’s superior in several ways.  For one, you can easily play with almost any house rule you want without having a program stop you.  It is also easy to create your own what-if scenarios.  I also think TripleA (if there’s another option please let me know) looks terrible and feels clunky.  It has it’s own drawbacks, and I refuse to try it a third time.

The credit/debit card is superior to checking in many ways, but it is still an additional account, company, and statement to deal with.  Also, many people spend more money with the credit card than they do with cash and checks because it’s easier and faster and doesn’t feel like “spending money” to a lot of folks.  So there too, the old gents have their reasons, and it’s not just because they don’t like change.  In addition they’re providing other people an opportunity to practice patience and remind us of a time when everything didn’t go so fast.  I appreciate your opinion, and figure it’s fair to give mine  :-)  A wise person appreciates and considers the opinions of others, and I have a feeling you are wise.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation with this change mid-stream.  I really appreciate that.  Please let me know how it goes after updating ABattlemap with the installer.  I’m hoping to be able to get all ABattlemap 1940 users on the same page with toolbar and infoview with countries in the correct order, and I apologize for making you guys my guinea pigs.  If it works well for you, I will do the work of making the conversion.  If it doesn’t work, well, we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.
