@Panther Thank you for your response…that helps a lot!
1942SE at GenCon was awesome.

Yes , maps.
“To Sharpee or not to Sharpee, That is the question.”

“Whether 'tis neater on the map to scribble the swings and furrows of unobvious frontiers, or by withholding miss them.”

So we have two Shakespeares on the forum! Well done “noble Prince”: may flights of Mustangs wing thee further West.

Anybody else notice that the national production chart is now on the map? I guess it’s the new standard. Personally I don’t mind this as long as they don’t croud the sea zones like they did in AA41.
It also begets the question about what AAP40.2’s map looks like. I hope that it will start off where Europe left off, which according to my calculations should be about 47. (or more likely 50). If so we could have a global Ipc track of 100. That would make me feel okay about having it on the maps. 1-50 on each map would be lame since most global is far more popular than pacific.

@wittmann:

Since AA1941 includes a Lancaster bomber, one could also say “flights of Avros.”

Bravo! I bow down to the greater poet. Perhaps I am a better actor!

One of squirecam’s back-of-the-box pictures shows a couple of two-engined British tac bombers sitting on a carrier near Portugal. I was wondering for a moment if the tac bomber had been deleted from the new edition, but it doesn’t look like it from that picture.

Meanwhile I spotted an Italian Stuka on Ethiopia on the back of the cover

Good catch. The picture in squirecam’s reply #27 shows a small Italian fighter and a noticeably larger Italian Stuka-like plane next to it. The fighter is on Ethiopia and the tac bomber is on Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.

I noticed the old German and UK artillery as well. They didn’t take a new picture just added some new copy. Unbelievable. Anyone picking this up for the first time is going to wonder why it’s different int he picture. Good job WotC!

is that a bren gun carrier I see on the back of box?
Did squire cam send you these photos he ALSO found on the box?

Definetly the new Mechanized Artillery piece. For sure.
