I can’t quite make out the board. Would you take 2 pictures, each one half of the board, so I can get a better view?
Did your group okay getting outside advice for an active game? If not, then I cannot help you as that would be unethical.
I notice the UK art is the old one and not the 25 pounder, and it looks like USSR got a new art but it’s hard to tell.
Russia’s income still says 28 on the box. Is there anything in the rules about giving them the full 37 when playing Europe only?
@Imperious:
So how many actually played in the tournaments?
These are not official numbers, but, from what I recall with the tickets that came in and the brackets that we set up:
A&A “Classic” - single elimination tournament had 8 teams (14-16 players - which, quite honestly, shocked the HECK out of us. I believe there were a couple of ‘teams’ that were solo players)
A&A 1942 - single elimination with a twist had 12 teams (18-20 players) - again, we had several solo players. For this tournament, we had the 6 winners advance and randomly brought back in 2 of the losers of the first round (as Dave had pointed out). This set-up was agreed to by all the players in the tournament. It also proves that Greg can and will compromise needed and offer the chance the for the players themselves to develop a tournament format.
A&A 50 - single elmination after 4 ‘qualifying’ rounds. Top winners (based on VC/IPC) from the qualifying games roll up into the top 8 for single elimination. Here we had around 12-15 unique teams that participated in the qualifying rounds (24-30 total players).
A&A Global - single elimination - GHR - please correct me on this, but I think we had a total of six teams play - there was some sort of bye involved there, but I do not remember exactly how that worked. But 6 teams - with a total of about 12-14 players overall - I am not sure any team played with 3 people, but I also am pretty sure no one played alone)
We actually had a truckload of people also play A&A Minis of all kinds - mostly War at Sea. Turnout there was amazing.

Ya, there was at least 1 3-player team. And in a 3 round tournament with 1 bye team, i think there should be 7 teams. Don’t know for sure.
is that a bren gun carrier I see on the back of box?
When squirecam eventually posts pictures of the unit identification table in the rulebook (I’m assuming there is one, and I’m assuming we’ll see a photo at some point), this will answer a lot of questions.
Anyways, it was still very fun playing and meeting new people, can’t wait for next year!
Italy Sea - 1
Italy Sea - 2
Italy sea -3
Italy sea - 4
Italy sea - 5
The Italian AP, CA & CV all look pretty freakin’ sweet.
It looks like from now on I’m going to have to use two plastic tackle boxes rather than one to organize my collection of OOB Italian sculpts. Though I’m certainly not complaining.
Ok now we need map pics buddy.
Yes , maps.
“To Sharpee or not to Sharpee, That is the question.”
“To Sharpee or not to Sharpee, That is the question.”
“Whether 'tis neater on the map to scribble the swings and furrows of unobvious frontiers, or by withholding miss them.”
So we have two Shakespeares on the forum! Well done “noble Prince”: may flights of Mustangs wing thee further West.
Anybody else notice that the national production chart is now on the map? I guess it’s the new standard. Personally I don’t mind this as long as they don’t croud the sea zones like they did in AA41.
It also begets the question about what AAP40.2’s map looks like. I hope that it will start off where Europe left off, which according to my calculations should be about 47. (or more likely 50). If so we could have a global Ipc track of 100. That would make me feel okay about having it on the maps. 1-50 on each map would be lame since most global is far more popular than pacific.

Since AA1941 includes a Lancaster bomber, one could also say “flights of Avros.”

Bravo! I bow down to the greater poet. Perhaps I am a better actor!
