What kind of chips does the game come with? The old-school ones or the new ones from '42.2???

I just wanted to report that had a blast paying Axis & Allies at the convention! Greg (SmoreySwamp) runs a smooth operation - maximizing fun despite the fact it’s only 3.5 days of gaming. The prizes were amazing as well.
You really have to experience it to understand it. It’s a pressure cooker playing in a tournament and it’s a different game of Axis & Allies but still enormously fun.
You echo my thoughts exactly. It was a wonderful experience. And you were a great, classy competitor, our hobby gains much with you being a part of it. Thanks! :-)

Thank you for posting the pictures. Great to see they got the setup correct and the Italian tank looks cool. But may I be the first to say the Italian AA gun looks…. weird.

If I am not mistaken, it looks like an ITALIAN AUTO CANNONE 90/53 AA.
Still can’t post picture or I am doing something wrong… :x

To me that’s the coolest of the AA Guns so far :D LOL

I like the Italian AAA, it’s very unique looking. Glad it’s using the new chips, our group played 42-2nd Ed last night and the guys loved the new chips and I’m glad we can get some more.
-
Speaking of chips, a dishonest Italian player might try to hide a stack of chips under the disk of the AA gun. Oh now I get it! It’s like the sandpeople in Star Wars: “they use each others tracks to hide their numbers”. Desert warfare
The green chip @3 is a very good idea BTW. I’m getting some from HBG some that will click with the older chips.

I noticed USA start with Major ICs

On the back of the box French look like they still have the T-34
We hoped but i think they didn t upgrade the french units -
Yeah, it looks like I got it backwards.
Yes, the winners of the A&A Global tournament received copies of Second Edition. You can ask Squirecam for spoilers. Congrats guys!
Sounds like a good time was had by all…
No sightings of E40 or P40 2nd editions on the ground?
Sadly DJ, the global winners did not get copies of g40 2nd edition, we did however get copies of guadalcanal and battle fo the bulge. It seems like the 50th Ann and 1942 tournament winners get priority over the global winners. Something that I hope changes later on.

These are poor fabrications of FMG superior Italian pieces. Detail is poor as well as flashing from mold.
I wonder if the naval got some changes?
Still need map pics…

Thanks for the sneak peek Squirecam!
From the pics, it looks as though Mech Inf are now all represented by trucks, a la Motorized Infantry… I like this change, as the combat stats for both units are the same, and only the rate of movement is different.
Old mech inf units could now be used as a light tank unit, perhaps? CADM: 5/2/2/2, Attack = +1 when boosted by artillery. That would mark the return of the old 3/2 tank, for the old cost, under the very reasonable condition of artillery support. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve had that awkward number of 5 IPCs lying around at the end of my purchase units phase, and would have happily bought such a unit over an AAA… No matter how cool the new sculpts look.
